Course title: Engineering psychology and ergonomics

Course goals and objectives:



  • To acquaint the master students with historical background of engineering psychology and the contemporary situation in the field;

  • To acquaint the master students with the range of problematic issues in engineering psychology;

  • To acquaint the master students with the development of engineering psychology throughout history and contemporary research conducted in the field;

  • To create a comprehensive understanding of the goals and objectives of engineering psychology, about the specifics of the field.

Course annotation:

The study course looks into the methodological foundations of engineering psychology, psycho-physiological grounds of operator’s activity, engineering-psychology related grounds of the systems “human - machine” design and operation. The course comprises practical classes.

Requirements to earn 3 credit points:


  • - Active participation in lectures, and practical classes (60%);

  • Writing and presentation of an essay within the frameworks of the study subject (40%).



Independent work of master students:
