AGSO administers a $20,000 grant-in-aid program on behalf of the United Nations. Because AGSO has no discretion in the allocation of these grants, it has not put any performance measures in place.

Note: During 2000-01 AGSO was one of ten agencies which participated in a general performance audit of performance information in portfolio budget statements. The audit was undertaken by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO). On the basis of issues identified by the ANAO, during 2001-02 AGSO will be reviewing its performance information, including its outcome and output structure, with a view to making significant improvements in the relevance of and linkages between the components. Changes will be reflected in AGSO’s 2002-03 budget statements.
