The Government will provide an additional $122.2m over the next 4 years to deliver world class coaching techniques, continued access to international competition, new and innovative support services for National Sports Organisations, targeted assistance for high performance athletes and greater inclusion of athletes with disabilities within mainstream sporting programs. This initiative will allow the ASC to strike a better balance between supporting high performance Olympic and non-Olympic sports in the future.
The additional $122.2m injected through this Budget measure provides a total of more than $400m to achieve the Government’s stated high performance outcomes over the next four years.
