MEASURES AFFECTING OUTCOME 1
There are no measures in the 2001-02 Budget with resource implications for AIMS.
OUTCOME 1 — RESOURCING
Table 2.1 shows how the 2001-02 appropriations translate to total resourcing for AIMS’s outcome, including revenue from government (appropriation), revenue from other sources, and the total price of outputs. Cell references C1 and E1 show the links back to Table 1.1, the Appropriations Table.

OUTCOME 1 — CONTRIBUTION OF OUTPUTS
AIMS will achieve the outcome by conducting scientific and technological R&D, providing science facilities and services, and facilitating the application or utilisation of the results of research. The outcome supports Government policy and the Innovation Action Plan (Backing Australia’s Ability, January 2001) and is derived from the legislated functions of the Institute (Australian Institute of Marine Science Act 1972, section 9).
Table 2.2, on the following page, shows the performance information that AIMS will use to assess the level of its contribution to its outcome.
