The Investıgatıon of Stability Problems of Dump Site in Baganuur Lignite Mine in Mongolia Within the scope of this thesis, stability problems and solutions in the dump site of dragline of Baganuur Lignite Mine in Mongolia were investigated. For this purpose, 2D and 3D slope stability analyses were done by taking into consideration the results of laboratory experiments, the effect of seepage water, stress and deformation, seismicity, ground water level. Slope stability analyses were done by using Limit Equilibrium Method, Finite Element Method and stability problems of the dump site were examined.
As a result of the 2D (two dimensional) and 3D (three dimensional) slope stability analyses, site specific produced actual data were examined by linear regression analysis. Two equations were developed that factor of safety which is estimated by taking into consideration parameters of slope angle of the dump site, height of the dump site, angle of internal friction and excavation velocity which is estimated by taking into consideration parameters of slope angle of the dump site, slope height of the dump site, dip of coal seam. These equations were tested and authenticated by actual data, in the upcoming times, they will be offered an insight into slope stability analysis and assessment of excavation velocity depending on changing conditions, such as dip of coal seam.
