Dioxomolybdenum(Vı) Complexes of Some 2-Hydroxy Aldehyde Thıosemicarbazones
In recent years, the interest in synthesis of molybdenum complexes represented by [MoO2(L)D] general formula, which is the model for the enzyme catalyst systems and oxygen atom transfer reactions, have raised. In this regard, to obtain the systematic combinations and structural characterization of molybdenum-centered complexes are important for the purposes of determination their physical, chemical and biological properties.
In our study, 25 new cis-dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes which are formulated such as [MoO2(L)D] , were isolated by the reaction between 3-methoxy/5-bromo-S-alkyl-N-alkyl-thiosemicarbazone ligands and bis-acetylacetonato dioxomolybdenum(VI).
As a second ligand (D) of the isolated complexes, methanol, ethanol, propanol, allyl alcohol, 2-propine-1-ol, 2-butene-1-ol, 3-methyl-2-butene-1-ol, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, 4-picoline and pyridine were used. The structures of ligands and their complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic methods (IR, UV, 1H NMR, 13C-NMR, EI-MS).
The single crystal structure of 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde-N4-butylthiosemicarbazone dioxomolybdenum(VI) methanol and 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde-S-propylthiosemicarbazone dioxomolybdenum(VI) 3-methyl-2-butene-1-ol complexes were determined by using X-Ray Diffraction Method. It has been determined that which donor atoms of ligands participate in the coordination (ONS, ONN). xix
Additionally; saliycaldehyde-N4-methylthiosemicarbazone-dioxomolybdenum(VI) methanol complex was used for oxotransfer reaction. The findings obtained are consistent with the literature.
