The Requirements Chair questioned what users are need lossless coding for media delivery to mobile phones and portable players. Takehiro Moriya, NTT, responded that NTT DOCOMO wished to differentiate itself in the marketplace and lossless coding is a vehicle. The Requirements Chair requested additional supporting companies, deployment timeline, or other such information. It was agreed that this profile would issue with CD status at this meeting.
m16679 Proposal for a set of profiles and levels for SAOC
The Requirements Chair noted that documented industry support is a prerequisite for any profile.
It was agreed that this profile would issue with WD status at this meeting. The timetable for standardization will be defined after industry support is documented.
