Multi-Resolution 3D Mesh Coding (MR-3DMC) This session was organized as an audio conference.
m17551 MR3DMC evaluation database properties
m17554 CE on MR3DMC : PTFAN compression performances
Summary: These contributions present a recent improvement of PTFAN allowing progressive transmission of the connectivity data also. The compression results on the entire database are presented and compared with other progressive and non-progressive scheme.
Resolution: Add the new version of PTFAN in the Working Draft on Multiresolution 3D Mesh Compression

m17598 Results of Core Experiment CE3: Multi-Resolution 3D Mesh Compression
Summary: The contribution reminds the targeted objectives of the developed compression schema and presents the new coding results.
Resolution: Add the new version of KLT in the Working Draft on Multiresolution 3D Mesh Compression

Discussions and wrap-up:
It was recognized that the two proposed methods are targeting different applications. PTFAN requires to send the connectivity for an entire level, KLT can support finer resolution granularity. Consequently, PTFAN exposes better compression performances. It was recognized that PTFAN is appropriate when single object should be considered in the scene, KLT is appropriate for handling scenes with multiple objects. It is recommended that the AhG will continue the discussion related to the usage scenarios and document this analysis in a input document for the next meeting.
Reconfigurable Graphics Coding This session was organized as an audio conference.
m17623 A Proposal on the Graphics Tool Library (GTL)
Several AFX tools are now implemented based on RGC: the decoder and some FU for 3DMC and IC. The FUs are implemented based on HOPTES.
Resolutions
- Start an Working Draft on Reconfigurable Graphics Coding and provide a tutorial on how the framework should be installed and used. It is expected that such document help AFX contributors to include their tools in the RGC framework.

Communication of the decision to start the WD and planning of the work - The CE description should be updated accordingly
- The work on documenting use case scenarios should continue and provide documented analysis for the next meeting.
