Most of the work of the Video subgroup at this WG 11 meeting was held in breakout groups on Reconfigurable Media Coding, 3D Video Coding (the largest group, which met in the Video plenary room when not needed for plenaries), Compact Descriptors for Visual Search, and Internet Video Coding. Jens-Rainer Ohm, as one of the Video chairs, served as the primary coordinator of the Video subgroup at this meeting, and attended a substantial portion of the breakout sessions. The video subgroup held three plenaries – on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – to coordinate the work over the week, review and discuss the work of breakout groups, and at the end of the week, to approve documents and resolutions. Beyond that, dedicated groups of editors worked on producing texts for an MPEG-2 amendment, an AVC amendment and the working draft of Web Video Coding. A meeting of the Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding (JCT-VC) was held under ITU-T auspices at the ITU headquarters facilities in parallel with this meeting of WG 11.
