The contribution reported on a cross-check of the JAME USAC Common Encoder for mono items at 24 kb/s. In absolute MUSHRA scores, Reference Quality encoder was better than the Common Encoder which was better than the MPEG reference encoder, all at the 95% level of significance.
The mean score for the Reference Quality Encoder was approximately 10 MUSHRA points higher than the mean score for the Common Encoder. The Common Encoder performed best for speech items.
