Multiview Video Test Sequence in Circular Camera Arrangement for 3DV/FTV

m24846 (Nagoya): This contribution reported on capturing systems for multi-view sequences with a circular arrangement (radius of 6m), 24 video cameras (1920x1080, 30fps), 12 for supplementary views (1440x1080, 30fps), no color and geometry correction.

m25209 (VQEG Liaison): VQEG started a project on evaluation of 3D quality, subjective assessment methodology. This included paired comparison and usage of 10 stereoscopic sequences (1080p); VQEG is looking for real-life encoded scenarios of stereo video.

Discussion on the testing methods included the following remarks:

  How are small gains assessed, if there is no visible difference?

Better specification of testing conditions may be needed.There was a suggestion of inclusion of an R0 rate point.
