The Chair asked the group whether the JAME software should be the MPEG USAC Encoder software. It was confirmed that JAME has only mono encoding capability, and furthermore that the current JAME encoder interoperates with RM10 and not the final IS USAC decoder.
Jeongook Song, Yonsei University, stated that he would revise the JAME encoder software so that it produces a bitstream compliant with the USAC international standard.
Given that JAME encoder is compliant with the USAC international standard, it was agreed that the MPEG Encoder software will consist of the “dual trunk” of the JAME encoder (documented to be a very good quality mono encoder) and current MPEG Encoder software (fully functional but with undocumented performance).
