Several different alternative candidate shapes were considered for the region of support for filters in ALF.

It was remarked that the single-filter type concept has not been tested together with LCU-based ALF. However, that seemed unlikely to be a problem.

Decision: Adopt the 9x7 cross with center 3x3 square as illustrated below – initially subject to review of H0571, and then later confirmed.
