5.6.6.1.1.1.1.1.1JCTVC-H0072 NAL Unit loss software [S. Wenger (Vidyo)] [late]
Attached to this contribution was a NAL unit loss simulator (loss.c) that can be used to apply error pattern files to a bitstream according to Annex B bitstream format. Further included was a converter program (convert.c) that converts the error pattern files as generated by the JCTVC-G1050 software to a more compact interim format – the same format used previously in JCT-VC, as well as converted error pattern files. Both software and patterns could benefit from testing.
This software seems useful for loss testing purposes, and its use is encouraged. We will put it, along with the example error patterns, into the reference software tools package for distribution as part of the reference software. Decision (SW): Agreed.
