10Future meeting plans, expressions of thanks, and closing of the meeting
Future meeting plans were established according to the following guidelines:
Meeting under ITU-T SG 16 auspices when it meets (starting meetings on the Monday or Tuesday of the first week and closing it on the Tuesday or Wednesday of the second week of the SG 16 meeting), and
Otherwise meeting under ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29/WG 11 auspices when it meets (starting meetings on the Wednesday or Thursday prior to such meetings and closing it on the last day of the WG 11 meeting).
Some specific future meeting plans were established as follows:
27 April – 7 May 2012 under ITU-T auspices in Geneva, CH.
NOTE – The planned dates as listed above for the 9th meeting are the result of a change of plans that was established and announced after the 8th meeting had ended.
11–20 July 2012 under WG 11 auspices in Stockholm, SE.
10–19 October 2012 under WG 11 auspices in Shanghai, CN.
14–23 January 2013 under ITU-T auspices in Geneva, CH.
The US NB of WG 11 and Julie Higgins, Diane Pearson, and Betsy Bartlett of Meeting Planit were thanked for their excellent hosting of the 8th meeting of the JCT-VC. Huawei and Sony were thanked for providing the viewing equipment used at the meeting, and David Flynn for providing appropriate video player software. The JCT-VC thanked Vittorio Baroncini, Giancarlo Gaudino, FUB, and ISCOM for conducting formal subjective tests on the compression performance of the current draft HEVC standard in comparison to AVC. Christian Feldmann, Bin Li, Mathias Wien and Jizheng Xu were thanked for preparing the bitstreams and performing preliminary investigations.
The JCT-VC meeting was closed at approximately 1250 hours on Friday 10 Feb 2012.
