3D-AVC-CE8 results on Global Depth and View Prediction by NICT
Summary report:
There was one proposal from NICT on global depth and view prediction.
For the two view case: 30% lower bit rate was reported for texture and 57% lower rate for depth, but total performance including synthesis performance suffered a loss of more than 800% (for which the reason is not clear and could not be explained). It was claimed that subjective results are similar to the anchor with similar bit rate.
The CE report recommended subjective evaluation. Results for the 3-view case as well would be required as cross-check.
