4Reconfigurable media coding (RMC)One of the work items ahead of the meeting had been the preparation of software and conformance tests relating to the RMC implementation of the AVC Constrained High Profile (M23931). During this work, a mismatch was detected regarding the input/output behaviour of the 8x8 block transform, compared to the behaviour it should have according to the AVC standard. As a consequence, a corrigendum to the previously approved text of ISO/IEC 23002-4/Amd.2 became necessary. It was also confirmed that in future amending actions, software and conformance amendments should be fully tested and approved at approximately the same time as when the text is amended. In addition to the corrigendum work, it appears to be more practical to combine the software and conformance in a separate part of MPEG-C. Therefore, a request for a new subdivision to create an ISO/IEC 23002-5 was made, and the software and conformance for RMC for the AVC Constrained HP, combined with the previous parts which are in ISO/IEC 23002-4/Amd.1, was approved to go forward to CD ballot. At the same time, it was requested to not publish the current planned Amd.2, but rather to integrate it into a new edition after finalization along with ISO/IEC 23002-4/Cor1 and ISO/IEC 23002-4/Amd.2/Cor.1. ISO/IEC 23002-4/Amd.1 should be deleted after completion of ISO/IEC 23002-5. An AHG was appointed (N12571, as recorded in N12453) to conduct further work until the 100th meeting. Beyond further maintenance, the AHG plans to work towards completion of tools needed for an implementation of SVC (which has been fully developed except for field-coding-related features), and to solicit first contributions on HEVC.
