Ericsson provided bitstream extraction software that supports extraction of bitstream subsets, and proposed high-level syntax to support the bitstream extraction process. Due to the modified high-level syntax, a small BD bit rate savings (around 0.01%) was achieved.
The cross checkers reported some remarks about the proposal as well as checking for correspondence of the test results. In regard to the bitstream extraction, it was suggested to align the with JCT-VC work.
This tool was discussed as part of a BOG on high-level syntax. It was recommended to adopt the software and use it as part of CEs.
