Proposed Stereo Test Sequences for 3D Video Coding
|
m23631 offered 4 stereoscopic test video sequences for use in experiments. These were 1920x1080, rectified and colour corrected, a minimum of 23 seconds in length, with high-quality texture information, but had no depth data and camera parameters yet.
m23703 offered 4 stereoscopic test video sequences for use in experiments. These were 1920x1080, rectified and colour corrected, 10 seconds each, and had depth data and camera parameters available. These sequences have a typical stereo distance between consecutive views.
Viewing sessions were conducted as follows, with viewing coordinators noted:
-
AVC-CE3 on non-linear depth representation (Olgierd)
-
AVC-CE6 on depth resampling (Thomas)
-
HEVC-CE2 on view synthesis prediction for depth (Fabian/Sehoon)
-
HEVC-CE11 on view extrapolation (Martin)

New test sequences
Regarding the software integration plan in HEVC, it was planned to branch out HM3.0 and integrate adopted tools there – and, in parallel, to migrate the HTM to HM6.0. The software was planned to be available 4 weeks after the meeting. Migration to 3D-HTM requires another 6 weeks. The new 3D-HTM will be available only 2 weeks before the April/May meeting.
