The contribution further noted that some tools with zero contribution to compression entail considerable storage requrements (e.g. Huff2DTP requires 5K Words of ROM table).

The contribution requests removal of the following tools from SAOC, LD-SAOC and LD-MPS

There was discussion to understand the exact experimental setup used to measure the reported results. Juergen Herre, FhG, noted that when an application uses SAOC and MPEG-Surround, it is not possible to eliminate the Huff2DTP table since it is normative in MPEG Surround.The Chair observed that it seems to be two critical issues:

  Is the contribution’s experimental method correct and appropriate.
  
• 
  Is the data set used in the experiment appropriate
  

Chair suggested that interested experts join a break-out group to discuss this issue. He further noted that the primary mandate for the break-out is that whatever decision was made at the last meeting (i.e. on Pilot Coding) must be consistent with decisions made at this meeting.
