Gregory Pallone, Orange Labs, presented
The contribution notes that Orange Labs believes that “High Definition” spatialized teleconferencing will be an important application for SAOC and proposes at test to show the performance of SAOC in this application. Specifically, it proposes the following test conditions which uses binauralization and presention via headphones:

Juergen Herre, FhG, noted that the contribution could be the basis for a tutorial on SAOC applications that could become an MPEG public document. The Chair suggested that there be a Draft Workplan for SAOC Verification Test from this meeting and a final Workplan for SAOC Verification Test from the 92nd meeting. The Draft Workplan should include “proof of concept tests” whose aim is identifying the correct operating points, and systems under test in the verification test. In addition, there may be draft Information on SAOC Applications document based on Orange Labs contribution m17202.

The contribution is a draft specification of the SAOC Verification Test. It envisions testing following scenarios:
-
Remix scenario (low bitrate)
-
Karaoke scenario (high bitrate)
-
Stereo teleconferencing scenario (loudspeakers)
-
Multi-channel teleconferencing scenario (5.0 presentation via loudspeakers)
-
Binaural rendering for teleconferencing (presentation via headphones)
Because of the number of tests, the contribution proposes only one or two items will per test scenario. Jeongil Seo, ETRI, indicated that he could make available additional test items. The presenter noted that there will be one rendering matrix per item. Henney Oh, LG, suggested that additional rendering matrix per item would be preferred.
The Chair suggested that the contribution form the basis of an output document and that there be a breakout to further progress the work. In particular, additional items per test and a spreadsheet indicating envisioned test workload could be added.
