2.3Summary of discussion

m19997 Agreed to have new editions. Plans are as follows:

  • 13818-1 : ready to start a new edition including AMD 1~6, first draft will be ready by November meeting.

  • 14496-12 : will start new edition with AMD 1 ~ 3 when AMD 3 is ready (July), doubt about the inclusion of COR4

m20126 This contribution observes that DID is missing representation of relationship between DIs. Using RDF/OWL is proposed. Detailed technical proposal will be ready by the next meeting.

3.3Summary of discussions

m19782 Proposal for study of PDAM 7

  • Removal of stream type 0x24

  • Addition of Stereoscopic_video_info_descriptor

  • Rename of arrangement_type to Stereo_video_format_type

  • Removal of Stereoscopic_program_info_descriptor

  • Removal of upsampling_factor from Stereoscopic_video_info_descriptor

m20117 This document describes updated signaling of service compatible stereoscopic video with redefinition of stream types and 2D_view_flag

m1999 USNB express concern about the shortage of available values for descriptor tag. It has been decided to introduce extension mechanism.
m20033 This contribution attempts at clarifying how MPEG-4 data can be synchronized with MPEG-2 data.

4.3Summary of discussions

m19765

The document was presented in a joint meeting with Requirements. It was clarified that the project does not want to define a collaboration protocol, but the support of collaboration protocols in MPEG scene formats.

The new proposed requirements got pushed and a suggestion was made to make it more obvious what is the intended spec.

The proponents were asked to provide a restriction of these requirements to the scene description formats changes, in order to provide a new version of the context and objectives document and a new version of the requirements (draft) document. The use of the word “collaborative” was also discussed, trying to improve the visibility and understandability of the activity.

m19771

The document was presented. It presents the result of an action in the AHG mandate. The testing scenarios were explained in detail. After a first run and analysis, optimizations were done, with x5 improvements but losing the « real time » characteristic. The whole process got thoroughly discussed and pushed, with satisfactory answers: the use of X11 was criticized, and it was explained that the bias understood to be introduced by using X11 is actually application dependent. Other limitations were isolated as being dependent on the terminal software used.

Follow ups are discussed: CFP, ad hoc, identification of requirements. Earlier contributions provided the background for a CfP. The remaining question is: what to standardize. This is answered in the requirements contribution below.
