Images and video are foreseen as input for visual search. Aptina Imaging and ETRI contributed significantly to the data sets at this meeting. Given that the databases for evaluation are available and most logistical issues are solved, MPEG issued the call for proposals N12201 Compact Descriptors for Visual Search: Call for Proposals. The evaluation process is available in N12202 Compact Descriptors for Visual Search: Evaluation Framework. The evaluation of the responses to the CfP will take place prior to the 98th meeting. Verification may last until the 99th meeting. A first Working Draft is planned for the 99th meeting.
The adhoc group N12199 AHG on Compact Descriptors for Visual Search will facilitate submission of responses to the CfP and prepare the evaluation.
