The activities in MPEG-7 Visual technical work were related to finalization of the amendment for extraction and matching of video signature tools. This was authorized to proceed to AMD as an output of the 97th meeting.
A proposal was received for a new, significantly faster, matching method for the video signature. It was decided that a software implementation will be included in a branch of the XM (on the SVN), and an XM40 document was issued. In terms of part 8, no change is necessary.
An AHG was appointed (N12191, as recorded in N12057) to conduct further work until the 98th meeting. The mandates relate to maintenance of the various MPEG-7 Visual related parts, software and databases.
Further work on preparation of a Call for Proposals on Compact Descriptors for Visual Search was conducted under the Requirements subgroup.
