What is the EUCEET Association?
The EUCEET Association is an independent grouping of University Departments, Professional Associations and Research Institutes which share a common interest in Civil Engineering Education and Training. It was founded in 2007, and arose from a Thematic Network, EUCEET, which had operated for a number of years under the auspices of the European Commission – Directorate General for Education and Culture.
The Association has more than 50 members, including most of the leading European Universities and Institutions. Its management and organisation is conducted on behalf of the members by an Administrative Council, whose current membership is given below.
-
Prof. Jean Berlamont (Catholic University Leuven) President
-
Prof. Benjamin Suarez (Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona) Vice-President
-
Prof. Marie-Ange Cammarota (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées)
-
Prof. Roger Frank (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées)
-
Colin Kerr (Imperial College London)
-
Assoc. Prof. Marina Pantazidou (National Technical University of Athens)
-
Prof. Pericles Latinopoulos (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
The Secretariat of the Association is based in the Technical University of Civil Engineering, Bucharest and the General Secretary Professor Iacint Manoliu.
Our Objectives

What do we do?
The Association is a forum for debating the key issues in Civil Engineering Education. We maintain a number of Working Groups to address key topics, and inform the Sector (members and others) via conferences, symposia and publications.
Conferences are held annually and our main publication series, ‘Inquiries into European Higher Education in Civil Engineering’ is now into its ninth volume. Recent studies have included:
-
Comparative studies of degree programmes and curricula across Europe
-
Innovation in teaching and learning including e-learning and project-based learning
-
Accreditation and assessment
-
Synergies between Industry and Academe
-
What can Higher Education do for the Construction Industry?
-
Reviewing the introduction of the Bologna Process
-
Assessing requirements for developing CDP programmes for professional engineers
