Muhammad the False Prophet
The main character in the Islamic texts is the man Mohammad. Islam claims him to be a prophet of Allah (who they revere as a god) and Mohammad is also regarded as the “perfect man” and as a result is without fault or blemish to his character. The Quran actively encourages its followers to be like Mohammad.
First of all, we will look to the Bible to see what it says about false prophets. The Apostle Peter set this out very well for us in the Second Epistle of Peter, chapter 2, which you should read now.
From this, I will list briefly the major points that he uses to distinguish false prophets:
-
There have been false prophets among you in the past as there will be in the future (v1)
-
They follow their own pernicious (destructive) ways (v2)
-
They shall speak evil of the way of truth (following Christ) (v2)
-
Because of their greed, they will lie and cheat to gain goods from believers (v3)
-
They are full of lust after the flesh (fornication) (v10)
-
Despising governments (v10)
-
Presumptuous and self-willed – to speak evil about dignitaries (character assassination) (v10)
-
Speak evil about things they don’t understand (v12)
-
Enjoy rioting in daylight (v13)
-
Deceiving all about their nature while mixing with society (v13)
-
“Eyes full of adultery” – always seeking sex with others (v14)
-
Enticing weak willed people with their practiced greed and deceptions (con artists) (v14)
-
Speak great words of boasting, attracting others through worldly and fleshly things (v18)
-
They make promises of liberty and freedom, while they themselves are servants of corruption (v19)
-
Knowing the Way of Christ, they are entangled in the ways of the world (v20)
So let us take a look at the man Muhammad. It would help your understanding to firstly read Appendix 1 in its entirety (The Life of Muhammad). This provides the context of his life and is widely accepted as accurate given the historical material in existence today.
What I present below is a selection of quotes and teachings that come from the Quran and also Hadith and other highly regarded Muslim texts:
Said Allah does not love those who reject Islam.
(Quran 30:45, 3:32, 22:38)
"I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah"
(Muslim 1:33)
Permitted stealing from unbelievers.
(Bukhari 44:668, Ibn Ishaq 764)
Permitted lying.
(Sahih Muslim 6303, Bukhari 49:857)
Owned and traded slaves.
(Sahih Muslim 3901)
Murdered those who insulted him.
(Bukhari 56:369, 4:241)
"If then anyone transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him"
(Quran 2:194)
Jihad in the way of Allah elevates one's position in Paradise by a hundred fold.
(Muslim 4645)
Married 13 wives and kept sex slaves.
(Bukhari 5:268, Quran 33:50)
Slept with a 9-year-old child.
(Sahih Muslim 3309, Bukhari 58:236)
"O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness."
(Quran 9:123)
Encouraged his men to rape enslaved women.
(Abu Dawood 2150, Quran 4:24)
"And fight them until there is no more persecution and religion is only for Allah"
(Quran 8:39)
What are the Greatest Commandments? "Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause"
(Muslim 1:149)
Died fat and wealthy from what was
taken from others in war or demanded from others in tribute.
Mercy toward fellow Muslims - ruthlessness toward unbelievers. Muslims are warned not to befriend those outside the faith. They must even ensure that their charity tithe (zakat) stays within their own identity group.
(Quran 48:29, 3:28, Sharia)
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those who are with him are ruthless to the unbelievers"
(Quran 48:29)
Warns Against Questioning Faith.
(Quran 5:101-102)
Calls down Allah's curse on Christians and those of other religions.
(Quran 9:30)
Arrogance & Privilege - "Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind"
(Quran 3:110)
Now you can make a comparison. The warnings given in 2 Peter 2 very clearly outline what to look out for in a false prophet. We can see from reading about Muhammad that not only is he a false prophet but much more.
The Hypocrisy of Muhammad and Islam (11)
Here in Matthew 23, Jesus identifies the scribes and Pharisees as hypocrites:
Matthew 23:1-7
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
They spend a great deal of time and effort telling people that they should follow the Laws of men, but they do not follow them themselves. Any works they do accomplish are only done so that they can be seen by others.
What follows is just a selection of the hypocrisy that can be found in the teachings of Islam and the character of Muhammad:
Hypocrisy Number 1: Number of Wives – Muslims can have up to four wives, but Muhammad can have as many as twelve
Surah 4:3
And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice (to so many) then one (only) or (the captives) that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye will not do injustice.
Hypocrisy Number 2 – Allah can question, but cannot be questioned
Surah 16:93
Had Allah willed He could have made you (all) one nation, but He sendeth whom He will astray and guideth whom He will, and ye will indeed be asked of what ye used to do.
The above shows how Allah can question you, yet no-one can question the word of Allah (that is given ONLY by the prophet Muhammad):
Surah 21:23
He will not be questioned as to that which He doeth, but they will be questioned.
Hypocrisy Number 3 – Abrogation – if you don’t like an old teaching, replace it with a better one
Surah 2:106
Such of our revelation as We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things?
Hypocrisy Number 4 – But no-one can change the words of Allah in the Quran
Surah 18:27
And recite that which hath been revealed unto thee of the Scripture of thy Lord. There is none who can change His words, and thou wilt find no refuge beside Him.
Hypocrisy Number 5 – Make friends with Jews and Christians but don’t make friends with them
By examining the Quran it is plain to see that there is a huge amount of reference to Jewish and Christian tradition, which could only be have gained by mixing with those people. Yet the Quran teaches not to mix with them!
Surah 5:51
O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.
Hypocrisy Number 6 – Prophecy for personal gain
Surah 8:41
And know that whatever ye take as spoils of war, lo! a fifth thereof is for Allah, and for the messenger and for the kinsman (who hath need) and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, if ye believe in Allah and that which We revealed unto Our slave on the Day of Discrimination, the day when the two armies met. And Allah is Able to do all things.
Note in the quote above that the “Messenger” is Muhammad.
Surah 33:50
O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war, and the daughters of thine uncle on the father's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the father's side, and the daughters of thine uncle on the mother's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the mother's side who emigrated with thee, and a believing woman if she give herself unto the Prophet and the Prophet desire to ask her in marriage - a privilege for thee only, not for the (rest of) believers - We are Aware of that which We enjoined upon them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess - that thou mayst be free from blame, for Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.
So because women were regarded as a financial asset….so the prophet profits.
