Organizations in Altanis:
The Altanian Elementalistists: The Elementalists live in the Village of Talud. They combine mysticism and arcane magic with the goal of fighting evil forces that threaten the Altanian Tribes. The elementalists are split into two divisions. The senior division, led by Sildith wizard/Cleric of Seker, are the Elemental Theurgers. The junior division of the Elementalists, composed of skilled fighters with alchemical enhancement, are the Anointed Knights.
The primary evil the Altanian Elementalist fight these days are the followers of Hanuman the Acursed – The Ape God who live at the Temple of Gungli-Ma.
The Bear Cult: This is an Altanian cult that worships Bears. The Bear cult exists outside of the tribes and warrior lodges. Members of the cult serve as a force of elite protectors who watch the Altanian lands for trouble from invaders and monsters. Those who gain position in the Bear Cult become Bear Warriors (see Prestige classes).
The Dragon Cult of Praxys: Formed by a Cleric of Obad-Hai who claims the red dragon is a representative of Obad-hai sent to bring balance to nature. They have helped the dragon Praxys raid the countryside around Carchimish.
The Hekeak Gnolls: A tough group of Gnolls, well organized and slightly more advanced then their cousins. The Hekeak was one of the Gnoll tribes that pressed up from the south during the Gnoll Times some three hundred years ago. They are based out of Shedezar, control the jungle around their fastness and raid outward looking for loot and supplies.
The Knights of the Chalice: An organization of elite warriors who have spread throughout all lands. Their primary mission to do battle with the Demon-Brood who inhabit the southern hemisphere. The Demon-Brood have sent regular invasions north for the last two millennia. A small number of Knights wander Altanis. Most of these mighty fighters live in the great cities beyond Altanis.
Oracles of Elishar: In the Town of Valera the Oracles have made their home. Over time they have made a name for themselves not only in the civilized world, as many people from distant lands come to question the Oracles, but among the Altanians, who have adopted this civilized cult as a reliable method of getting answers from the gods in bad times. Divine Oracles (Prestige class) are the best of these oracles.
Order of the Chromatic Dragon: Monks following the great dragon goddess Tiamat. Kobolds, Goblins, Hobgoblins a few Orcs and a number of Humans and Half-Orcs serve this evil order of Monks.
The Temple of Gungli-Ma: The vile followers of Hanuman, the Ape God, spread fear throughout Altanis with their adherents sneaking into villages, tribes and caravans and murdering people in their sleep. Settlements throughout the region set guards to watch for the cultists with success being spotty at best.
