IPPS BAN:05 – Nanophysics
Support started in 2014.
Objectives
The project has mainly three main objectives. 1. To modernize the existing nanophysics laboratory of the department of physics, the University of Dhaka with state of the art research facilities. 2. To start an extensive research on nanomaterials, such as coordination polymers-a typical thread-like metal-organic frameworks (MOF), like DNA as well as chemically converted graphene for nanoelectronic applications and 3. To create a research opportunity for postgraduate students and researchers of Bangladesh in the field of nanotechnology.

IPICS BOL:01 – Chemical Ecology in Bolivia
Support started in 2018.
Objectives
The overall objective of this project is to develop Chemical Ecology in Bolivia by addressing
locally relevant problems with basic and applied approaches, and training undergraduate and graduate researchers with a multidisciplinary perspective which uses Analytical Chemistry as one of its main tools. Systems will be chosen for which there is regional and national needs of new knowledge: chemicals from local plants to control Chagas disease vectors, chemistry of local crop plants in relation to their pollinators, and chemical responses of plants to bioacoustical signaling of interacting animals such as pollinators and herbivores. These research lines may lead to ways to control Chagas disease and to the design alternative ways for the management of agroecosystems, respectively. Additionally, they will involve the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students including local USFX staff, thus opening the possibility of a multiplicative effect.

IPICS BUF:01 – Analytical Techniques for Analysis and Valorisation of Local Natural Products in Burkina Faso
ISP provided pilot support to the Dept. Chemistry in 2008. The first year a common grant was given under the designation BUF:01, while applications from two groups were accepted. The second group is from 2009 denoted BUF:02.
Objectives
The overall goal is to achieve foods security through the provision of agricultural products in quality and quantity in relation with strategic Plan to fight against poverty in Burkina Faso.
Specific Objective 1: To increase scientific knowledge for effective antifungal formulation based on local plants
Specific Objective 2: To improve with stakeholders technologies for accessibility to antifungal formulation based on local plants for sustainable crops protection in a context of climate change.
Specific Objective 3: To build sustainable research collaboration with partners at local, regional and international levels in order to increase the use of pesticidal plants in local agriculture.

IPICS BUF:02 – Water and Clays Burkina Faso
ISP provided pilot support to the Dept. Chemistry in 2008. The first year a common grant was given under the designation BUF:01, while applications from two groups were accepted. The second group is from 2009 denoted BUF:01.
Objectives
To contribute to the development of the quest for simple, low-cost and high-performance water purification processes using natural clay minerals, laterite soils and oxide materials from Burkina Faso for the removal of some heavy metals cations and arsenic (V, III) compounds in contaminated groundwaters in rural villages.
