Wilson Armitage


Obituary from the Polk County Enterprise - October 26, 1978 Edition

GOODRICH – Funeral services were held Saturday from the Chapel of Pace Funeral Home in Livingston for Wilson Armitage, 92, who died Oct. 19 in Livingston Memorial Hospital. Rev. L. A. Sartain, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Goodrich, officiated. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Louis Turner, Joe Turner, Jim Turner, Douglas Armitage Jr., Michael Armitage and Jim Whitaker. Armitage was born Jan. 31, 1886, in Goodrich to the late Wilson and Martha Ray Armitage. A native of the

Goodrich area, he was educated in the local public schools. He spent his adult life in the timber business and farming. He was married Oct. 12, 1912 in Elwood to Pattie Laramore. The Armitages had six children, of which five survive. Armitage was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goodrich. Among survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ola Mae Turner of Goodrich and Mrs. Ruth Whitaker of Longview; three sons, Roger W. Armitage of Kirbyville, C. D. Armitage of Livingston, and L. T. Armitage of Saint Francisville, La.; two

sisters, Mrs. Maude Renfro of Beaumont and Mrs. Ola Bradley of Houston; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

ONALASKA – Funeral services for Frank Eugene Ashcraft, 79, of Onalaska, were Sunday, Jan. 28, 1990 at the First United Methodist Church in Onalaska with the Rev. Bill Raines officiating. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Ashcraft died Friday, Jan. 26, 1990 at the Northwest Medical Center in Houston. He was born Sept. 8, 1910 in Osgood, Ind., the son of Searcy Ashcraft and Susan Tomlin Ashcraft. He married the

former Helen Weston on Oct. 15, 1936 in Tyro, Kan. Before retiring, he was employed as

an erecting superintendent for industrial machinery. He was a member of the senior

citizens of Onalaska, Trinity Lodge No. 14 FM&AM of Livingston and a member of the

First United Methodist Church of Onalaska. Survivors include his wife Helen Ashcraft of Onalaska; a daughter and son-in-law, Frankie and Preston Durrett of Deer Park; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Bonnie Ashcraft of Irvine, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Charles Topmiller of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Leora McAlister of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Almeda Ashcraft of Covington, Ky.; five grandchildren; four grandchildren

and many dear friends and relatives. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Jack and Chris Durrett and David Ashcraft; brothers-in-law, J. C. Ramey, R. D. Workman, Edgar Dean and E. A. Weston. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Ashley Nicole Aubrey, 15, were held Saturday,

Nov. 25, 2006, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jason Collins officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. She was born Nov. 3, 1991 in Livingston, the daughter of Charles and Gemma Hawkins Aubrey, and died Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Rose “Ginnie” Aubrey. Survivors include her parents, Chuck and Gemma Aubrey of Livingston; sister, Jacey Aubrey of Livingston; grandmothers, Virginia Aubrey Hubert of Livingston

and Kathryn Walding of Livingston and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers were James Aubrey, Jimmy Bowen, Mike Gaston, Lloyd Cain, Travis Christopher and David Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were Wes Knight and the Livingston High School Class of 2009-2010.
