LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Melissa Cockerham Denham, 75, of Livingston were held Sunday, July 31, 1983, from Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Orval Barger officiated, assisted by the Rev. Bill Kennedy. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Denham died July 29 in Livingston Memorial Hospital. She was born March 4, 1908 in Norman, Okla., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cockerham. She married J. N. Denham Sr. on June 14, 1924 in Livingston. Survivors include her husband, J. N. Denham Sr. of Livingston; three sons, Howard Denham of Livingston, Henry Denham of Sacramento, Ca. and Joe Denham Jr. of Corrigan; one daughter, Josephine Strickland of Liberty, one grand-son, Steve Denham of Livingston; five granddaughters, Keri Roberts of Livingston, Peggy Ellington of Huntsville, Jolin Frasier of Jasper, Cheryl Teel of Livingston and Kelly Denham of Corrigan; three great grandsons, Bryan Keith Evans of Huntsville, Bradley Evans of Huntsville and Daniel Denham of Livingston and two great granddaughters, Lana
Denham of Livingston and Stevie Ann Denham of Livingston. Pallbearers were Steve Denham, Dewayne Teel, Jack Townley, Jack Richard Townley, Tony Munson, Roy Munson, Edwin Carter and Jimmy Clarke. Honorary pallbearers were L. C. “Sandy” Moore, Herbert Brader, Dr. T. L. Gardner, Dr. Joe Dabney, Wilson Collins and S. A. King.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Bro. N. K. Dillon, 66, of Caldwell died Thursday evening, Sept. 29, 1990, in a Temple Hospital. He was born July 23, 1924 in East Tempe, near Livingston, Polk County,
the son of R. Q. and Gladys Williams Dillon. He attended schools in Livingston. On July 30, 1966 in Carthage he married the former Wanda Gage. They had lived in the Caldwell area since 1971. Bro. Dillon was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, near Livingston, and had pastured at Cade Lake Missionary Baptist Church near Caldwell. He served in the CCC (Tree Army) for a few years and served in World War II in the U. S. Army, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and wounded in Belgium. He was a member of the DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy Dillon. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Dillon of Caldwell; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Joe Wiggins of Stone Mountain, Ga., Marsha {Gage/Dillon} and Clay Lawrence of Livingston, Wanda Jo and Ronnie David of Trinity, and Sandra and Wally Drews of Bryan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Guynne Dillon of Livingston, Billy and Donna Gage of Caldwell, and Don and Sharon Gage of Bon Wier; six sisters, Nelda Saoy of Stone Mountain, Ga., Faye Crowson of Houston, Patsy Bice of San Augustine, Jo Ann McBride of San Augustine, June Freeman of Groves and Sue Boutin of Tenaha; three brothers, William Hamsey of Shepherd, D. D. Dillon of Caldwell and Euzell Dillon of Livingston; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs near Livingston, with the Rev. Kenneth Griffith and the Rev. Johnny Buller officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Isaacs, James Gay, Benny Cude Jr., Ed Dorsey, Irwin Steward and Gary Qualls. David Chalker served as honorary pallbearer. Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell was in charge of arrangements.
Cochran Funeral Home assisted with local arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - Ruth Lorene Dillon, 81, of Livingston died after a lengthy illness on
Feb. 11, 2002 in Livingston Convalescent Center, where she had been a resident since
October 2000. Mrs. Dillon was born Nov. 4, 1920 in Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Anna Mae Pierce. She was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Dillon Jr.; her parents and her grandson, Ryan Riddle. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Carolyn and Jimmy Riddle of Livingston; son and wife, John and Lesley Wilbois of Houston; sister, Cleo Hurless of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughter and husband, Shannon and Kyle Janek of Houston; grandsons, Jason Riddle of Livingston and Brandon and Chayne Wilbois of Houston; granddaughter and husband, Jennifer and Chris Fisher of Austin; granddaughter, Nicole Siegert of Ft. Worth; great-grand-sons, Ryan and Will Janek of Houston and Brian Riddle of Livingston; and nephews, Terry Hurless of California and Parker Hurless of Nevada. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 13, from the Cochran Funeral
Home Chapel, with Dr. Tom Kennedy and the Rev. Mary Shivers officiating.

LIVINGSTON- Wanda J. Dillon McPike, 75 of Livingston, formerly of Caldwell, died on
March 15, 2006, at her residence in Livingston. She was born on June 5, 1930, in Luling.
Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Oliver C. McPike of Livingston; sons and
daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Guynne Dillon of Livingston, Billy and Donna Gage of
Caldwell and Jesse and Rosa Gage of Livingston; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Wiggins of Houston, Marsha and Clay Lawrence of Livingston, Wanda and Ronnie David of Trinity and Sandra and Wally Drews of Bryan; son-in-law, Joe D. Wiggins of Houston; stepchildren, Ronnie and Shirl McPike of Splendora, Joseph and Susan McPike of Conroe and De Ann Montgomery of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Ernest Shafer of Hemphill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Nadine Collard of Coldspring, Felix and Delia Collard of Channelview and Jimmy and Barbara Collard of Angleton; sister-in-law, Yvonne Collard of Texas City; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, F. M. Collard; mother, Fannie B. Collard King; two brothers, Billy and Bobby Collard and her previous husband, N. K. Dillon. Mrs. McPike was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Livingston.Her grandsons, Doug Wiggins, Tommy Lawrence, Pete Lawrence, Jeff Dillon, Heath David and Dustin David. {were her pallbearers.} Services were held Saturday, March 18, at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

FLORENE DRODDY passed away January 22, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Droddy and daughter, Maurine Droddy. She will be dearly missed by her son, Jack Droddy and wife Pam; sister, Edna Tate of Knoxville, TN; and grandchildren, Daniel and Leesa Droddy and Lisa Galmiche. Mrs. Droddy’s family will receive friends from 2:00 p. m. until 4:00 p. m. on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Monday, January 26, 2004 in the family chapel of Forest Park Lawndale.
