Livingston – Funeral services for Jessica Walden “Jay” Grammer, 74, of Livingston

were held Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Don Wilkey officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Grammer

died Jan. 13 in Lufkin. She was born Nov. 24, 1921 in Coker, Ala., the daughter of Jesse L. Walden and Audrey V. Randolph. She was a dispatcher for the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department and was past president of the Scenic Loop Ladies’ Auxiliary. The Scenic Loop VFD would hold their meetings in her home before the fire station was built.

Survivors include daughters, Judy Burgett of Livingston and Pat Sullivan of Alabama; sons, Charles Grammer of Northport, Ala., Mike Grammer of Northport, Ala., Glenn Grammer of Centerville, Ala., and Ken Grammer of Clarksville, Tenn.; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Doris “Dutch” Green, 66, of Livingston were held Friday, Aug. 5, 1994, from Bold Springs Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs and the Rev. Sam Farris officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Green died Aug. 2 in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 28, 1927 in Polk County, the daughter of Voughn Lawrence and Pearl Pierce. On April 24, 1948 she married Walter Franklin Green Jr. in Livingston. Mr. Green preceded her in death in 1973. Mrs. Green was active with her family in school and church activities. Survivors include

daughters, Kathy Reed and Wendy Timm of Livingston; son, Rusty Green of Livingston; brothers, Clay Lawrence and Eugene Pierce of Livingston; three grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Green, Pete Lawrence, Lance Buller, Don Gage, Troy Allen Reed, David Chalker and Waymond Reed. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Services were held at Bethel Baptist Church at Bold Springs on June 15 for George Monroe Grimshaw, 95, who died June 12 in Medical Center Hospital in Nacogdoches. Rev. C. L. Moore officiated, assisted by Rev. Frank Hood.

Interment was in Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roscoe Wainwright, Roland Wilder, Cloyce Chalker, Herman Brashear, Doug Hand and Tommy Wilder. Mr. Grimshaw was born Jan. 13, 1884 in Belton in Bell County to the late James and Sarah Elizabeth Stahl Grimshaw. He moved to Polk County with his parents during his early childhood. The family settled in Camilla community. Three years later he moved to the Old Colita and Bold Springs community where he had resided for the previous 83 years. He was married at Old Coletta on Dec. 28, 1908 to the late Miss Donna Marsh who preceded him in death. Mr. Grimshaw spent most of his adult life in various building trades and farming. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Among survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Faye Rogers of Livingston; one grand-daughter, Mrs. Bobby Lee Wade of Conroe; and two great grandchildren, Georgia K. Wade and Bruce Wade.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Birdie Hand Williams, 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, from Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leonard Budro and the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment will follow in Bold Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, Oct. 17, at her residence in Moss Hill. She was born Dec. 6, 1912 in Carmona, the daughter of Jim and Mildred Glass

McCarty, both of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Clyde; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Billie Hand of Orlando, Fla., Doug and Melba Hand of Livingston, Kenneth and Carolynn Hand of Livingston; five grandchildren; eight great-grand-children and brothers, David McCarty of Leggett and Frank McCarty of Leggett.

Funeral services for J. C. Hand, Sr. 82, were held Feb. 16 from the chapel of the Pace Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed at Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Hand, Boughton Hand, O. L. McCarty, Don Marsh, Wilburn Chalker and David McCarty. Mr. Hand was born August 11, 1895 in Nacogdoches. He died Feb. 14. Hand is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hand of Nacogdoches. Hand attended the Nacogdoches public schools. Hand married Birdie McCarty on August 3, 1930. At the time of his death, he was living in Livingston. Mr. Hand served as district clerk of Nacogdoches County before moving to Polk County and the Bold Springs community in 1929. He was self employed owning and operating a general merchandise store in Bold Springs along with a service station. He operated a restaurant in Livingston and later was employed by the U. S. Postal Service. Mr. Hand was a Baptist minister and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church at Bold Springs. Survivors include: his wife, Birdie Hand of Livingston; three sons, Doug Hand and Kenneth Hand both of Livingston, and J. C. Hand Jr. of Orlando, Florida;

three sisters, Beulah O’Quinn of Livingston, Allene McCarty of Leggett, and

Mable Marsh of Livingston; 5 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Betty Faye Harris, 64, were held Wednesday,

Dec. 28, 2005, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lewis Bo Young officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Harris died Sunday, Dec. 25, at her residence in Houston. She was born Sept. 11, 1941 in Momau, La., the daughter of E. B. & Alma Emmons Lightfoot. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Terry Harris; brothers, George Lightfoot, John Baker Lightfoot, Alton Lightfoot, Richard Lightfoot and Kenneth Lightfoot and sisters, Marie Lightfoot and Patsy Lightfoot.

Survivors include her daughters, Crystal Dolen of Spring, Connie Morris of Orlando, Fla., Ginger Rogers of New Caney and Terrie Carpenter of Vidor and Mildred Rayburn of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and grandchildren, Christopher, Robin, Marion, Eddie, Colby and Lucas.

Pallbearers were Chris Dolen, Marion Rogers, Eddie Rogers Jr., Kenneth Harris,

Eddie Rogers Sr. and Randy Toney. Honorary pallbea
