Services were held for Arch Hood, age 81, in the Bold Springs Church on Wednesday, October 30th at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. C. L. Moore officiating. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Hood was the son of Jennie and Wiley Hood. A native of Polk County, he was born near Old Colita and attended the Public Schools of that community.
On July 10, 1925 he was married to Winnie Wright who survives him. To this union was born one child. Mr. Hood lived his entire life in the community in which he died. He was engaged in farming and ranching for many years. Mr. Hood was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Bold Springs. Survivors include his wife; Winnie Hood of Livingston, one son, Frank E. Hood of Livingston, two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were L. B. Farroll, Claude Welburn, Jim Wright, Oswin Chrisman,
Bob Wright and Ralph Wright. Arrangements were under the direction of Pace Funeral Home in Livingston.

Funeral services for Gertie Lee Hood, 92, were held Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Smith Jr. officiating assisted by the Rev. Frank Hood. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Hood was born August 16, 1884 in Livingston, the daughter of the late Monroe and Allie Baggett Meece. She died July 4 at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin. A life-long resident of Polk County, Hood received her education in the public schools in the Bold Springs community, where she spent most of her adult life. On Dec. 22, 1907 she was married to the late Lynn Thomas Hood in Bold Springs. To this union was born two children, both of whom survive. A life-long member of the Baptist church, her love and devotion to her family, many friends and this community will long be remembered.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alma Clyde Bader of Houston and Mrs. Agnesse Smith of Livingston; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Wainwright of New Willard and Mrs. Ruby Rasberry of Livingston; four grandchildren; five great-grand-children and a host of relatives and friends.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Winnie Hood, 83, of Livingston were held Dec. 4, 1983 from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. The Rev. C. L. Moore officiated, assisted by Bro. Thomas Smith and Bro. Frank Aragon.
Mrs. Hood died Dec. 2 in Livingston Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1899
in Canary, TX, the daughter of the late Tom Poe and Emma Lee (Tipton) Wright. She was educated in local schools and attended Massey Business College. She married Arch Hood on July 10, 1925 in Dallas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1968. Survivors include one son, Bro. Frank E. Hood of Livingston; two brothers, Lennox Wright of Normangee and Illion Wright of Jasper; sister Zadie Rhoden of Conroe; three granddaughters, Melody
Aragon of Hearne, Cindy Sheffield of Tyler and Mary Hood of Livingston; grand-son, Andy Hood of Livingston; four nieces, Barbara Ferrell and Janet Judd of Livingston, Evelyn Welborn of Conroe and Sarah Beth Holiday of Normangee; nephew, Oswin Chrisman of Dallas and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were L. B. Ferrell, Ralph Wright, Louis Allen Rhoden, John Sheffield, Harold Issacs, and Oswin Chrisman.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Chance Axton Hopson, 15 months, were held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 1990 from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Don Wilkey officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. He was born August 25, 1989 in Livingston, the son of Robert and Barbara Barton Hopson. Survivors include his parents, Robert and Barbara Barton Hopson of Onalaska; two brothers, Robert Hopson Jr. and Jason Hopson of Onalaska; grandparents, Gene and Catherine Barton of Onalaska; grandmother, Doris Hopson of Livingston; grandparents, Leon and Alma Barton of Clute; great-grandmother, Ina Hopson of Lufkin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were James Werth, Ronnie Long, Mike Darling and Mike Yarborough.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Jason Gene Hopson, 20, were held Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. He was born Aug. 27, 1985 in Huntsville, the son of Robert and Barbara Barton Hopson Sr. and died Monday, Dec. 19, in John Sealy UTMB in Galveston. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Archie Hopson Sr.; brother, Chance Axton Hopson, grandfather, Eugene Ray Barton; grandmother, Catherine Barton
and grandfather, Milam Wilson Hopson. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Barton Simons of Livingston; brother, Robert Archie Hopson Jr. and wife Janell of Livingston; grandmother, Doris Hopson of Katy and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Magurite Olive Hubbard, 57, of Livingston
were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Methodist Church in Livingston with burial in
Bold Springs Cemetery directed by Pace Funeral Home of Livingston. The Rev.
James Frasier officiated. She died last Thursday.
Mrs. Hubbard was born Sept. 22, 1915, at Fresno the daughter of William Alpha
Harkleroad and Alice Catherine Fought. She attended the Fresno community’s public
schools. On October 1, 1933, she was married to Marvin Earl Hubbard. He was engaged
in oilfield construction work and the family lived in several parts of Texas. She had
made Livingston her home for the past two years and was a member of the Methodist
church. Survivors include her husband; her father, William Alpha Harkleroad of Alvin;
a son Kenneth Hubbard of Livingston; a daughter, Mrs. Lynda Faye Delaney of Junction
City, Kan.; two brothers, Kenneth Edward Harkleroad of Fresno and Orman Charles
Harkleroad of Fresno and Orman Charles Harkleroad of Alvin; two sisters Mrs. Gladys
Maness of Alvin and Mrs. Ivy Tharp of Livingston; and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers
were Luther Adcock, Robert Stevenson, Glenn Harkleroad, Charles Tharp, Ferris
Maness and John Maynor.
