LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Mary Lou Lucas, 73, were held Friday, Aug. 4, 2000 from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Leonard Budro officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Lucas died Tuesday, Aug. 1, at her residence in Onalaska. She was born Feb. 17, 1927 in New Willard, the daughter of Leonard Guy Haynes and Rosie Alice Martin Haynes. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lucas; her parents; brothers, Kenneth Haynes and Leonard Guy Haynes; and sister-in-law, Eva Lou Haynes. Survivors include her son, Leroy Lucas of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue Whitecotton and husband Bob of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Lucas; grandson, Joe Lucas of Indianapolis, Ind.; granddaughters, Nikki White of Indianapolis, Ind. And Lacy McGrew of Nobelsville, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Dylay, Tyler, Evan and Jenna; brother, Gerald Haynes and wife Opal of Onalaska; and sister, Billie Jean Tierney and husband Richard of Willis. Pallbearers were Kenneth Haynes, Guy Haynes, John Haynes, Richard Tierney, Jay Kennedy and Joey Lucas.

Funeral services for Alton Jarvis Marsh, 53, of Houston were held Saturday, June 19 at 4 p.m. in Pace Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Frazier, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Bold Springs Cemetery and pallbearers were Gene Standby,
Jerry Standby, Rogers Marsh, Eddie Marsh, Bobby Joe Marsh, Tommy Marsh. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Standby, Johnny Marsh, Don Marsh, George Marsh, Beth Turner, Bill Turner, John Marsh, Mark Marsh and Laban Marsh. Mr. Marsh was a native of Polk County, born near Bold Springs where he attended public schools. He moved to Houston in 1952, and had been employed there for the past 29 years by Portland Cement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 63, and a member of Bethel Baptist
Church of Bold Springs. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Billie Marsh of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Carol Beane of Orange; one brother, Tom Marsh of Livingston; two sisters,

18 Feb 1909 – The death of Mrs. Cintha Marsh occurred at her home at Nettie on Monday, February 15th. She was 80 years old and has been a consistent member of the Baptist church 50 years. She was born in Louisiana and moved with her late husband, Mr. Manton Marsh, in
1848 to Texas, locating in Polk County. Mr. Marsh, who died 6 years ago, served in the Mexican War. Mrs. Marsh is survived by eight children, four boys and four girls and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her death. She was buried in the Bold Springs
Cemetery Tuesday evening.

Frank E. Hood officiating. Mrs. Marsh was born in Düsseldorf, Germany to Goehann and
Maria Grunewald. She had been a resident of Highlands for 25 years, moving from Houston.
She married Bob Marsh on Oct. 10, 1994. Survivors include her husband, Bob Marsh of
Highlands; daughter, Trudy Land of Meridian, Miss.; brother, Wolfgang Grunewald of Düsseldorf, Germany; three sisters, Kati, Anna Mae and Margaret, all of Germany and

LIVINGSTON: A Leggett High School senior was killed instantly about 2: 15 p. m. Sunday when struck by lightening in a barn at the rear of the family home in Leggett,
Texas. He was Judson McCormick (Mickey) Marsh, 17, son of Manton Marsh. He was a native of Leggett and member of an old area family and active in the F. F. A. Justice Bob DeShazo returned a verdict of death by lightning. Services will be at Bold Springs Baptist Church today at 1 p. m. with Rev. C. L. Moore officiating. Interment will be in Bold Springs Cemetery. Services for Leonidas Polk Marsh Sr., 80, were held Monday afternoon at Pace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald White officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. L. Moore and the Rev. Frank Hood. Burial was in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Marsh, a native of Polk County, died Saturday. He was born August 10, 1893 near Bold Springs and was the son of James C. and Emma Cockrell Marsh. He attended school there and on July 4, 1918 he was married to Jessie Vivian Risinger at Onalaska. Mr. Marsh lived in Texas City and retired from the Monsanto Co. in 1947. At the time of his death he had made Livingston his home. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Livingston; two sons, Marshall Marsh of Livingston and L. P. Marsh Jr. of League City; a daughter, Mrs. Venora Beaslin of Texas City; a brother, J. G. Marsh of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Dona Grimshaw of Livingston; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Johnny Davis, Jim Peters, Ray Kegans, C. N. Thien, W. W. Dalohite and
C. C. Thomas.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral Services for Mable Hand Marsh, 81, were held Saturday, Nov. 4, 1989 from the chapel of Pace Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Hood of Chesswood Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery in Bold Springs.
Mrs. Marsh died Nov. 2 in Timberwood Nursing Home after being ill for some time.
She was born June 21, 1908 in Nacogdoches, Texas to William Gaines Hand and Willie Ann Nix Hand. Mrs. Marsh was reared in Prairie Grove, a small community just out of Nacogdoches. She attended church and school in Prairie Grove. As a young lady, she moved to Polk County. Soon after moving to Polk County she was married to Tom Marsh by Rev. Wadsworth in Bolds Springs Baptist Church in Bold Springs on October 1, 1930.To this marriage, seven children were born, all of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Marsh lived in the Bold Springs community and attended Bethel Baptist Church. They especially looked
forward to the homecomings held each year at their church. Mrs. Marsh was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to caring for her family. She loved her large family and loved to cook for all of them. She especially looked forward to deer season, when all of their
family would be home, so she could fuss over them and make sure they all ate well. Mr. Marsh preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1974. Survivors include five sons, Tommy June Marsh of Livingston, Bobby Joe Marsh of Highlands, George Harold Marsh of Livingston, Don Gilbert Marsh of Livingston and Johnny Frank Marsh of Livingston; two daughters, Beulah Jean Kendall of Houston and Mable Clara Sloan of Channelview; one sister, Beulah O’Quinn of Livingston; 16 grand-children; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Pallbearers were Mark Marsh, Steve Marsh, Jim Marsh, Mike Marsh, Gary Sloan, Billy Farrar, Tim Mannings and Stan Standley.
Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for MANTON EDDIE MARSH , JR. will be Sunday, May 9, 1999 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, TX, with Bro. Harold Isaac officiating. Interment will follow in the Bold Springs Cemetery in Livingston. Mr. Marsh was born September 25, 1925 and passed from this life on May 7, 1999. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Manton & Ruth McCormick Marsh , brothers, James Douglas, Judson McCormick, and Mark Wilson Marsh. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Alma Hickman Marsh , Daughters, Nollene Marsh , Peggy Mooring, Virginia Thagard, Oleather Marsh, and Martha Roberts, Grandchildren: Veronica Willis and husband Mike, Jason Thagard, Matthew Thagard, Clinton Thagard, Daniel Thagard, Ryan Roberts, Megan Roberts, and Shannon Marsh, Great Grandchildren: Jacob & Kayla Willis, Brothers, Roger Marsh and wife Helen, John Marsh and wife Joan, Laban Marsh and wife Tommy Nan, and Bob Marsh and wife Carol. Eddie was born in Colita, Texas and raised in Leggett, Texas where he attended school. He served in the Navy during WWII, and is a lifetime member of the International Graphoanalysis Society. Mr. Marsh was a 32nd degree Mason and a Noble of the Arabian Temple. Eddie started his career at the Polk County Motor Company and moved on to become a Gulf Station dealer in the Porter, Cleveland &
Houston areas. For the last 16 years he owned and operated ''Crosby Grass Farm.'' He will
be remembered as a loving family man with a strong sense of family. Pallbearers will be

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Mark Wilson Mark, 63 of Montgomery, Ala. were held Wednesday, May 18, 1994, from Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Marsh died May 13 in East Montgomery Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1930 in Leggett, the son of Manton Eddie Marsh and
Ruth Henrietta McCormick. Mr. Marsh was in the U. S. Air Force and retired March 28, 1990 from the Civil Air Patrol at Maxwell Air Force Base as a program analyst. Survivors include 2 sons, Matthew Marsh of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mark Marsh of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Mary Butler of Dubai, UAE and Sally Messina of Pasadena; five brothers, Eddie Marsh of Crosby, John Marsh of Refugio, Laban Marsh of Houston, Roger Marsh of Livingston and Bob Marsh of Bridge City; four sisters, Polly Lapham of Silsbee, Emily King of Beaumont, Kitty Suddarth of Houston and Loree Vernon of Houston; three aunts, Johnnie LaRoe of Goodrich, Emily Walters of Goodrich and Ethel Gregory of Dallas; and one uncle, Will McCormick of Rye. Pallbearers were Mark John Marsh, Matthew Wilson Marsh, Bob Marsh, Roger Marsh, Laban Marsh, John Marsh and Eddie Marsh.
