LIVINGSTON – Funeral services were held Thursday for Marshall Ollie Marsh, 62, at Bethel Baptist Church in the Bold Springs Community under the direction of the Pace Funeral Home. The Rev. C. L. Moore officiated and interment followed at Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Marsh was born Jan. 31, 1920 in the Bold Springs Community and

died July 19 in Houston. He was the son of the late Leonidas P. and Jessie Vivian Risinger Marsh. A native of Bold Springs, he attended public school in the Livingston Independent School District. Later, he moved to Houston. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Air Force and was later called during the Korean War and served as aircraft engine mechanic. After his release from active duty, he returned to his native Texas. He had been living in League City and was employed with the Varner Contracting Company. Prior to that, he had lived in Texas City and the Gulf Coast area. Mr. Marsh was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Venora Temple of Texas City; brother, L. P. Marsh of League City; brother-in-law, Jack Temple of Texas City; three nieces; a nephew and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Melvert Dahl, R. H. Rogers, John T. Marsh, Jack Temple, J. A. Lumpkin and Perry Pace.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Marvin Augustus Marsh, 66, of Livingston were held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1983 from Bold Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. C. L. Moore officiated and interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Marsh died Nov. 7 in Livingston Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1916 in Livingston, the son of the late Todd and Julia (Stahl) Marsh. He had lived in Polk County all of his life. He graduated from Livingston High School in the mid 1930s. He was a retired electronic technician and served in the Navy from 1938 to 1945. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Jill Hilton of

Beaumont; granddaughter, Stacie Laye Worsham of Beaumont; grandson, Christopher Warren Hilton of Beaumont; sister, Virginia Ann McNeil of Livingston; six cousins, Faye Rogers, Gladys Wainwright and Wayne Wilder, all of Livingston, L. P. Marsh of League City, Roxie Lee of Cheeta, TX and Vernora Temple of Texas City and one aunt, Hixie Stahl of Goodrich. Pall-bearers were R. H. “Tub” Rogers, Roland Wilder, Cloyce Chalker, James

Barlow, Lewis Burnette and Boots McKinnion. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.

Services were held from the Bethel Baptist Church on Monday October 20, 1969 at 11 a.m. for Todd Marsh age 79, with Bro. C. L. Moore officiating assisted by Bro. Pat Long. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Marsh was born on February 22, 1890 the son of John and Emma Cockrell Marsh a native of Polk County. He was born near old Colita and attended the Public schools of Colita and Bold Springs. Mr. Marsh moved to Livingston where he was engaged in business for many years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He died on October 18, 1969. Survivors include his wife, Lola Mae Mott Marsh of Livingston, one daughter Virginia Sample of Houston. Three brothers,

Stafford of Moscow, J. G. of Houston and Leondius of Livingston. One sister Donna Grimshaw of Livingston, two grandchildren, Jill Worsham and John Sample. One great grandchild Stacy Worsham and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Roland Wilder, Roscoe Wainwright, Pete Coogler, Mitchel Burchfield, Ira Loftin and B. F. Stephens. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

WOODVILLE – Funeral services for Orman Love “O. L.” Marsh, 74, of Woodville were

held Saturday, Aug. 31, 1996, from the First Baptist Church in Woodville, with Bro. Steve Benthall officiating. A Masonic graveside service followed in Bold Springs Cemetery near Livingston. Mr. Marsh died Aug. 29 in Tyler County Hospital. A native of Bold Springs, he lived in Woodville for 45 years. He retired from the Woodville Independent School District after 30 years of teaching Vocational Agriculture. He was a graduate of Livingston High School, and earned his BS and MA degrees in agriculture from Sam Houston State University. He was a member of the Lions Club, Vocational Agriculture Teachers’ Association, Texas State Teachers’ Association, Retired Teachers’ Association, Texas State Forestry Association, VFW, Woodville Fire Department, Masonic Lodge, Chamber of

Commerce and the First Baptist Church of Woodville. Mr. Marsh served as Fire Chief of the Woodville Fire Department, was Chamber of Commerce citizen of the year and was a Texas Lions Camp life member. Survivors include his wife, Della Floyd Marsh of Woodville; daughters, Sue Marsh of Conroe and Joy Marsh Moon of Longview; son Floyd Marsh of

Huntsville; grandson Matthew Tobin Moon of Longview; and brothers Ray Marsh of Livingston and Ralph Marsh of Kingsland. Pallbearers were Jerry Rains, Clinton Currie, Wayne Smith, Jim Hays, Max Graham, Milton Walters, Bob Keel and Jerry Grimes. Honorary Pallbearers were Marion Dale Odom, R. A. Jernigan, Bill Jefferson, Bill Kennard, Bill Nichols, Elmer Ray Oates, Luther Lowery, Joe Glasscock and J. W. Grimes. Memorial donations may be made to the Texas Crippled Children Lions Camp or the charity of one’s choice. Riley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
