LIVINGSTON – A memorial service for Alfred Poweshiek Wilbois, 76, of Houston was held on Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Dr. Don Willis officiating. Mr. Wilbois died Wednesday, Aug. 27 in Northwest Medical Center

Houston. He was born Nov. 14, 1920 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of John Alfred

and Viva M. Moore Wilbois. Mr. Wilbois was an accountant in the construction business and worked many years for Brown and Root, Inc. He was a U. S. Army veteran who served

10 years in the 82nd Airborne.Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John and Lesley Wilbois of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jimmy Riddle of Livingston; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Paul Gildow of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Bernice Hill of Des Moines, Iowa; and nine grandchildren.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Otha Roland Wilder, 88, were held Monday, May 6, 2002, from Bethel Baptist Church, with Bro. Frank Hood, Bro. Harold Isaacs and Bro. Leonard Budro officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. He was born

Oct. 16, 1913 in Madisonville, the son of John James Wilder and May Viola Risinger Wilder. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, eight brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his son, Tom Wilder of Huntsville; sister, Truby Smoot of Iola; brother, Carl Wilder of New Caney; sister-in-law, Patsy McGaughey of Livingston; and special friend, Erleen Payne of Livingston. Pallbearers were Greg Ogletree, Kenneth Baker, Red Payne, Paul Mac Galloway, Harold Isaacs and Clint Ferguson.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Dorothy Wayne Wilder, 71, were held Saturday,

July 29, 1989 from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, with the Rev. Frank Hood, the Rev. John Carter Watts and the Rev. Johnny Buller officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Wilder died in Memorial Medical Center of East Texas in Lufkin

after a lengthy illness. She was born May 20, 1918 in Livingston to Dalton Southern and Treva Buller Southern. Mrs. Wilder attended public school in the Bold Springs and Livingston communities. She left high school before her final year to get married, a decision which brought her 52 years of happiness and fulfillment. Although she never held a job outside the home, she was a faithful and loving homemaker, wife and mother for over 50 years. Eating a meal at Wayne Wilder’s table was a treat enjoyed by many. Mrs. Wilder was a tireless worker in her church and community. She taught Sunday school classes, served as church secretary and took it upon herself to spend countless hours visiting the sick and the shut-ins in area hospitals and nursing homes. Survivors include her husband, Otha Roland Wilder of Livingston; one son, Tommy Glen Wilder of Huntsville; one sister, Patsy Curry of

Livingston; and many other relatives and a host of dear friends. Pallbearers were Kelton Ogletree, Greg Ogletree, Kenneth Baker, Joe Pridgen, Joe Goodrum and Harold Isaacs.

Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services were held Saturday for Rosa Melvina Williams, 76, at Pace Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rickey Needham officiated with the assistance of the Rev. Willard Needham. Interment followed at Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 8, 1905 in Smith County and died July 14 at her family home in Livingston. She was the daughter of the late George M. and Harriet Henrietta Henderson. A native of Smith County, she later moved to Grimes County during the early part of her childhood. She attended public school in the Navasota and Grimes County area. She moved to Polk County in 1965 and had lived in Livingston for the past 17 years. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Emanuel Pentecostal Church. Survivors include four daughters, Hattie Watson of Livingston, Elsie Mae Craddock of Houston, Ruby Lee De’Agustino of Bryan and Bonnie Ruth Rozell of Houston; son, Bobby Lynn Bennett of Montgomery, Ala.; two sisters, Lena M.

Wilson of Fort Worth and Mary Wilson of Humble; brother, Hack Henderson of Navasota; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grand-children; 16 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Dickie J. De’Agustino, Kelley Watson, Chas. Craddack, Henry Craddock, Kevin Cannady, Gary O’Bannon, Joe Flores and Bobby Watson.
