LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Gladys Lorene Brashear, 82, of Livingston were held Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1989 from Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Brashear died Saturday, Dec. 23, 1989

in Polk County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 2, 1908 in Eden, Texas, the daughter of Albert Essary and Mary E. Marsh Essary. On Sept. 29, 1928 in San Angelo she married Herman Brashear. Mrs. Brashear was a member of the OES Chapter in Groveton and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs. Survivors include her husband, Herman Brashear of Livingston; two sisters, Jewel Gallier of Beaumont and Jean Baucom of Heavner Okla.; brother, Fred Essary of Heavner, Okla. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Livingston – Funeral services for Mary Beth Brasher, 54, of Livingston were held

Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1993, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Bro. Lindell Mitchell and Bro. Andy Dooley officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Brasher died Dec. 13 in Beaumont. She was born April 30, 1939 in Grand’ Saline, the daughter of Oscar J. Russell and Lottie Belle Fagg Russell. She attended Grand’ Saline schools while growing up and on Nov. 19, 1955, married Lonell Brasher in Grand’ Saline. Mrs. Brasher was a member of Livingston Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Lonell Brasher of Livingston; three sons, Dwayne Brasher of Houston, Barry Brasher of Livingston and Brian Brasher of Grand’Saline; daughter, Vicky Nunnally of Livingston; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Lois Fansler of Grand Saline; brother, Hugh Russell of Livingston; sister, Cherri Nation of Willis Point; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Russell of Fort Worth and Bobbie Russell of New Summerfield. She was preceded in death by two brothers, O. J. Russell and Harold Ray Russell. Pallbearers were Ronnie Nation, David Holley, Terry McNally, Gene Graham, Robert Mercer and Charles Towns. Honorary Pallbearers were members of Sand Hills Hunting Club. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Obituary from the Polk County Enterprise - September 24, 1989 Edition

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Mrs. Bell Martin Buller, 92, were held Friday, Sept. 22, 1989 from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, with the Rev. Orval Barger of First Baptist Church of Livingston and the Rev. Frank Hood of Chesswood Baptist Church in Livingston officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Buller died Sept. 20 in Timberwood Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born May 6, 1897 in Montgomery County, Texas to Ben Martin and Bama Matthews Martin. At the age of 12 Mrs. Buller and her family moved to Polk County, where she was reared and attended school. On Jan. 3, 1915 she married Penn Buller in the Elwood community of Polk County. Mr. and Mrs. Buller made their home in the Bold Springs community, rearing four children and being involved in the farming industry. In 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Buller moved from Bold Springs to what was then Buck, on the outskirts of Livingston, making that their home for many years. Mrs. Buller joined Bethel Baptist Church in 1914 and was a faithful member for over 75 years, until her health failed her. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children. Survivors include a daughter, Minnie Burnett of Livingston; one brother, Lee Martin of Livingston; three sisters, May Currie of Houston, Rosie Haynes of Onalaska and Emma Garrett of Livingston; two grandsons, Johnnie Buller and Jim Buller of Livingston; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Pallbearers were Buddy Martin, Pete Martin, Melvin Radke, Hodge Buller, Bud Haynes, Mike Stanford and Doug Stanford.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Earl Wallace Buller, 73, were held Wednesday,

April 7, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Buller died Tuesday, April 6, in Livingston Convalescent Center. He was born Oct. 3, 1930 in Livingston, the son of Joe and Nola McCormick Buller. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Reams Buller. Survivors include his wife, Foy Buller; son, David Buller of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bill Stephens of LaPorte; granddaughter and husband, Melissa and Buck Walding of Livingston; grandson, Dusty Buller of Livingston; great-granddaughter, Kylee Walding of Livingston; brother and sister-in-law, Hodge and Ethel Buller of Starks, La.; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and L.P. BOLD SPRINGS – Funeral services were held Sunday for Joseph Reams Buller Sr., of Bold Springs from the Bethel Baptist Church of Bold Springs with interment in Bold Springs Cemetery. The Rev. C. L. Moore officiated. Mr. Buller died July 20.Mr. Buller was born in October 28, 1892, the son of Nick Calhoun Buller and Vinney Marsh Buller near Old Colita. He attended public school in the Bold Springs community and on August 16, 1923 he married Nola Irene McCormick.

Mr. Buller was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Joseph Reams Buller Jr. of Livingston, John Hodge Buller of Starks, La. and Earl Wallace Buller of Livingston; two daughters, Mrs. L. P. Marsh of League City and Mrs. Evelyn Coker of Livingston; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kinnie Buller, Lloyd Coker, James Marsh, Joe Hollis Buller,

Steve Dunham and Lester Rogers.

LIVINGSTON – Joseph Ream Buller Jr., 61, died Sunday June 1, 1986 at Livingston Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, at 2 p.m. from the

Bethel Baptist Church, in Bold Springs Community west of Livingston. The Rev. C. L.

Moore officiated, assisted by the Rev. Frank E. Hood. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Born December 27, 1924 in the Elwood Community, Buller was a lifelong

resident of Polk County. He attended elementary school in the Elwood community and later went to Livingston High School. During World War II, he served in the United States Air Force. He completed four years of active duty in the Air Force and served overseas in the European Theatre. Upon his discharge, Buller held the rank of Staff Sargeant. He was married to Miss Jean Chalker, January 27, 1955. The couple had four children, who survive.

Mr. Buller was the owner of the Motor Machine shop, a lawn and garden machine sales and repair business. He was a member of Bold Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ada Jean Buller of Livingston; daughters Linda Farrar of Livingston and Jo Nell Rolls of Livingston; sons Allen Buller and Gary Buller of Livingston; sisters Edna Marsh of League City and Evelyn Sumrall of Livingston; brothers Hodge Buller of Starks, Louisiana and Wallace Buller of Livingston; six grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
