LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Lucy Davis Cox, 88, of Livingston were held
Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1990 from the Chapel of Pace Funeral Home, with Rev. Auburn Neely of the Methodist faith officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery in Bold Springs. Mrs. Cox died Dec. 31, in Polk County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born June 29, 1901 in Navarro County, Texas to Rufus Davis and Mattie Newman Davis. She was reared in Navarro County and attended the Darby School in Bering, Texas. On Nov. 15, 1916 in Diboll she married the late Hobson W. Cox. Mr. and Mrs. Cox moved to Leggett, then to Goodrich and then to Livingston, making Polk County their home most of there married life. Mr. Cox preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1982. Survivors include two brothers, R. D. Davis of Austin and Fred Davis of Livingston; three sisters, Myrtle Harris of Leander, Julie Eckerberger of Waxahachie and Opal Harris of Livingston; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and dear friends. Pallbearers were Joe Lynn Foster, Rufus Davis, Fred Davis Jr., Clarence Ellis, James Davis, J. P. Woodard and Davis Ellis
Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Millage Abron Cox, 87, were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 22 with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leon Gage, Dempsey Hickman, Hubert Maze, Bill Cook, Walton Phillips and Julius Dominy. Mr. Cox was born the son of George and Ella Peebles Cox. A native of Polk County, he was born and reared at Leggett. He attended the then available public schools. On July 24, 1920, he was married to Pearl Davis at Leggett. To this union were born three children, all surviving. He was employed by the Texas State Highway Department. He has been retired for several years. Cox was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Aaron Cox of Segno, J. R. Cox of Livingston; one daughter, Lois Smith of Texas City; two brothers: Hobson Cox of Livingston and Wylie Cox of Corrigan, four sisters: Emma Emanuel of Goodrich, Vera Barton of Goodrich, Irene Money of Nacogdoches and Ruby Ellis of Goodrich; six grand-children, four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

LIVINGSTON – Graveside services for J. R. Cox, 69, of Livingston were held
Saturday June 27, 1998, from Bold Springs Cemetery with Bro. Frank Hood
officiating. Mr. Cox died Wednesday, June 24, in Methodist Hospital, Houston.
He was born Oct. 20, 1928 in Leggett, the son of Milledge Cox Sr. and Pearl
Davis Cox. He was a retired construction worker for the City of Livingston.
Survivors include his sister, Lois Cox Smith, of Texas City; daughter, Sherri
Lynn Cox of Livingston; friends J. W. and Nola Reneau, and Ed Rarden of
Livingston; and friends, Agnes Reeves of Livingston, who has been like a
mother to him for years.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Cox, 67, of Livingston, were held in the Pace Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Frazier officiating. Burial was in Bold Springs Cemetery and pallbearers were Clarence Ellis, David Ellis, Virgil Foster, Jimmy Davis, Lester Nelson and Rufus Davis. Mrs. Cox was a native of Kaufman County, but moved to Polk County at an early age and settled in the Seven Oaks area. Mrs. Cox resided in Livingston for many years, and she attended the Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, M. A. Cox of Livingston; two sons, Aaron and J. R. Cox of Livingston; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Cox Smith of Texas City; two brothers, Fred Davis and R. D. Davis of Livingston; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Harris of Austin, Mrs. Lucy Cox of Livingston, Mrs. Opal Harris of Livingston and Mrs. Julie Echeberger of Maypearl, Texas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
