Funeral services for Ben William Martin, 77, were held at 2 p.m. Jan 10, in Pace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. L. Moore officiating assisted by Frank Hood.
Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. He died Jan 8.Mr. Martin was born Jan 27, 1895, near Conroe in Montgomery County. He was the son of Benjamin F. C. and Bama Matthis Martin. He attended public schools in the Conroe Community. The family moved to Polk
County in 1910. Mr. Martin was employed in construction work most of his life. He was a member of Bold Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Pete Martin of Livingston and Sidney Martin and Edwin Martin both of Lufkin; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Louise Womack of Palestine; a brother, Lee Martin of Livingston; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Parker and Mrs. May McKnight, both of Houston. Mrs. Emma Walker of New Ulm, Mrs. Belle Buller of Livingston and Mrs. Rosa Hayes of Onalaska; 23 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services for James Robert Martin, 75, were held at the Bold Springs Church Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock with Rev. W. B. Wadsworth officiating. Mr. Martin died Monday at his home on Route 2 following a brief illness. Interment was in Bold Springs Cemetery following the funeral service. His nephews served as pallbearers. Mr. Martin was born in Alabama, but had lived at his home in Polk County for 30 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A. W. Watts, Mrs. Nolan Phillips, both
of Livingston, and Mrs. J. W. Turner of Port Arthur; three sons Dan, Fred and Robert Martin, all of Livingston; three brothers, Haywood, Steve and Dan Martin; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Willis of Bevins. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Thomas Martin, 64, of Elwood, were held at
Bold Springs at 3 o'clock last Thursday afternoon, Rev. W. B. Wadsworth, pastor
of the First Baptist Church of Livingston, officiating. Death occurred the previous
day and was due to pneumonia, which followed an attack of influenza.
Mrs. Martin was born at Blacksville, South Carolina, August 22, 1871, and
came to Texas when she was only four years old. She lived at Montgomery
until 1913, when she moved to Polk County. Her marriage to J. R. Martin
took place February 28, 1890 {Jan. 29, 1890 - Marriage Records, Montgomery
County, Texas}. She was a member of the Baptist Church
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, J. R. Martin; three daughters, Mrs.
John Turner of Port Arthur, Mrs. Weldon Watts and Mrs. Nolan Phillips,
both of Livingston; three sons, Fred and Robert of Livingston and D. T.
Martin of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. R. N. Hughes of Livingston, Mrs.
J. M. Smith of Rayburn, and Mrs. Maggie Murphy of Houston; two brothers,
D. A. Thomas of Livingston; and C. P. Thomas of Conroe.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Dan Martin, a long time Livingston businessman,
were held Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Pace Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Galloway officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank Hood. Burial was in the Bold Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Martin, a veteran of World War I, died Monday, Aug. 11, at the age of 79. He was
born Sept. 11, 1895 near Conroe and was the son of James Robert and Carrie Thomas Martin. He attended school in Conroe and moved with his family to Polk County, where
e settled in the Elwood community, were he reared his children. After serving with the
U. S. Army during World War I he returned to Livingston and was engaged in business
for many years, retiring in 1959. He was a past commander of VFW Post 8568 and a
deacon of the First Baptist Church of Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Anna May Martin of Livingston; a son, Daniel Thomas Martin
Jr. of Orange; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ann Bevell of Livingston; a step-daughter, Mrs.
Eton Mahan of Vidor; a brother, Robert Martin of Port Arthur; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Bell Turner of Port Arthur, Mrs. Bonnie Watts of Livingston and Mrs. Hortense Phillips of Goodrich; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dicky Phillips, Gary Martin, Wallas Turner, Harlen Camp, Charlie Thomas and R. O. Martin.

Services were held at the Bold Springs Cemetery Monday, April 16, for Fred Perry Martin, 62, retired Texas Company employee and former farmer in Polk County. The Rev.’s Wade Hopkins, R. C. Vance and C. L. Moore officiated. Interment followed in the Bold
Springs Cemetery. Mr. Martin was born in Conroe, July 7, 1893 and moved to Livingston
when he was about 20 years of age. He farmed in Polk County until 1942 at which time he moved to Port Arthur to work in the Texas Company Refinery. He retired for reasons of health on May 1, 1954, and was retired at the time of his passing. Mr. Martin was united in marriage April 14, 1918 to Nettie Verne Turner. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Port Arthur and also a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Fred P. Martin, Jr. of Port Arthur and James Lyndon Martin of Livingston; three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Wilkerson, Port Arthur; Ms. Pauline Camp and Miss Mary Martin, Houston; two brothers, Robert Martin of Port Arthur and Dan Martin of Livingston; three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Watts and Mrs. Hortense Phillips of Livingston and Mrs. Johnny Turner of Port Arthur and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Nolan Watts, A. T. Watts, Charlie Thomas, June Marsh and Horace Bond.
Pace Funeral Home of Livingston was in charge of arrangements.
