LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Hazel Martin, 84, of Livingston were held Sunday,
July 9, 1989 from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Martin died Friday, July 7, in Timberwood Nursing Home in Livingston.She was born April 29, 1905 in McNeil, Ark., the daughter of John Preston Haynes and Georgia Horton Haynes. She attended school in Onalaska, Texas. On March 19, 1922 she married M. L. Martin. Mrs. Martin was a member of Chesswood Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Morrice Lee Martin of Livingston; sister, Werta Butler of Texarkana, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Everett Parker of Livingston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar Lee and Sharon Martin of Livingston and M. H. and Nell Martinof Baytown; five granddaughters; three grandsons; seven great-granddaughters, eight great-grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter. Pallbearers were Greg Martin, Kerry Martin, Dean O’Bannon, Bill Reaves, Tom O’Neal and
Dennis Campbell. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Morrice Lee Martin, 88, of Livingston were
held Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1989 from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev.
Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Martin
died Sunday in Timberwood Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 25, 1900 in Montgomery
County, the son of B. T. C. and Bamma Mathews Martin. On March 19, 1922 he married
the former Hazel Haynes, who preceded him in death of July 7, 1989. Mr. Martin was a
retired farmer, a member of Chesswood Baptist Church and a member of Daylight Lodge
AF&AM of Houston. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Everett
Parker of Livingston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar Lee and Sharon Martin of
Livingston and M. H. and Nell Martin of Baytown; three sisters, Emma Garrett of
Livingston, Maye Currie of Houston and Rosa Haynes of Onalaska; eight grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Greg Martin, Kerry Martin, Dean O’Bannon, Bill Reaves, Tom O’Neal
and Dennis Campbell. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Verne Martin, 89, were held Tuesday,
Oct. 4, 1988 from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, with the Rev. Orval Barger
officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Martin died Oct. 2 in
LaPorte, TX. She was born Oct. 12, 1898 in Colita, Polk County, TX., to William George
Turner and Margaret Texann Manning Turner. Mrs. Martin was reared and attended
school in the Colita and Bold Springs areas. She married the late Fred P. Martin Sr. on
April 14, 1918 in Livingston and to this marriage five children were born. Mrs. Martin
was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.
Survivors include two sons, Fred P. Martin Jr. of Port Arthur and James L. Martin of
Littleton, Colo.; three daughters, Pauline Camp of Seabrook, Beatrice Wilkerson of Port
Arthur and Mary M. Harper of Titusville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three great-grand-
children and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jack Tyler, Leroy
Laddish, Joe Camp Jr., Bob Cuneo, Jim Martin Jr., R. C. Martin, Charles Ray King and
Danny Sudduth. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Graveside services for Oscar Lee Martin, 76, were held Tuesday,
July 3, 2001, from Bold Springs Cemetery, with Dr. Don Willis and Lindell Mitchell
officiating. Mr. Martin Died Saturday, June 20, in VA Hospital in Houston. He was
born Nov. 16, 1924 in Moscow, the son of Morris Lee Martin and Hazel Haynes Martin,
both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 42
years, Betty. Mr. Martin served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, having attained
the rank of Boilermaker second class. He enlisted on Dec. 13, 1942 in San Diego, Calif.
and was discharged on Jan. 3, 1945 in Norman, Okla. Survivors include his daughter
Candace Reeves; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Becky Martin; daughter, Stanton
O’Neal; daughter and son-in-law, LeAnne and Mark Walters; sister and brother-in-law,
Dorothy and Everitt Parker; brother and sister-in-law, Melford and Nell Martin; grand-
children, Angela and husband Eddie Pigg, Dow O’Neal, Scott and wife Julie Martin,
Matthew Martin, Stacy and husband Ryan Buck, Kyle Skinner and Chris O’Neal; and
four great-grandchildren. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
