LIVINGSTON – Graveside services for Floyd Benjamin Thompson, 80, were held Friday, August 5, 1988 from Bold Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating.
Mr. Thompson died Aug. 3 in Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was born July 31, 1908 in Tulsa, Okla., the son of James Sullivan Thompson and Florence Lillie Foutch Thompson. He moved to Texas at a young age with his parents from Oklahoma and was reared and attended
school in Galveston. Mr. Thompson lived in Texas most of his adult life, living in Pearland for 25 years from 1953 until 1978, when he moved to Polk County. Mr. Thompson worked most of his life as a self-employed carpenter. After retiring he moved to Polk County and worked for the Polk County Solid Waste Department for five years. In November, 1932 he married the former Ruby Pearl VanWinkle in Phoenix, Ariz. To this marriage four children were born, all of whom survive. Mrs. Thompson preceded him in death in 1942. He was also preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters. Survivors include one son, Bill Thompson of Dallas; three daughters, Jean Thompson of Houston, Dorothy Carie of Alvin and Faye Agurrie of Livingston; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Roger Dallas Timm, 63, of Moscow, Texas will be held Sunday, November 4,2007 at 1:30 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Carl Roth officiating. Interment will follow in the Bolds Springs cemetery. Visitation was Saturday, November 3,2007 from 6 to 8 pm at Pace Funeral Home. Roger a retired truck driver was born in LaPorte, Indiana, May 23,1944. He was in the United States Army reserve. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Dallas and Renetta Haman Timm.
He is survived by Connie Myers Timm, his wife of 42 years. His two sons Richard D. Timm and wife Wendy of Bold Springs, Matthew R. Timm of Norman Oklahoma, one daughter, Amanda B. Timm and husband Tuan Nguyen of Houston, one sister Susan T. King and husband Herbert D. King Jr. of Richmond Texas. Seven grandchildren; Joli, Lani and Noel Timm, Grace, Erin and Claire Nguyen and Rachel Timm. And a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard D. Timm, Matthew R. Timm, Herbert D. King Jr. and
Tuan Nguyen, Marty Polk and Jeffrey Lauman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Trinity Luthern Church , The Polk County Animal Shelter, and the Spondelitis Assoc. of America.

Funeral services for Clara B. Tomme, 77, were held Feb. 23 from the chapel of the Pace Funeral Home with the Rev. C. L. Moore officiating, assisted by Rev. Frank Hood. Interment followed at Bold Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were S. C. Sheffield, E. E. Sheffield, Leroy Melance, Onran Tomme, Raymond Sims, and James C. Moore.
Mrs. Tomme was born February 27, 1900 in Bold Springs. She died Feb. 22. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dunnam of Bold Springs. She attended the then available public schools. Mrs. Tomme married Cochran Tomme on August 6, 1966. At the time of her death, she was living in Livingston. Mrs. Tomme operated a millinery shop specializing in ladies hats for many years. After her retirement she worked as a cashier. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Cochran Tomme of Livingston and a host of other relatives and friends.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Wesley Cochran Tomme, 93, of Onalaska were held Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1983, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. C. L. Moore and Bro. Frank Hood officiated. Tomme died Dec. 12 in Livingston Memorial Hospital.
A native of Polk County, he was the son of the late John Henry and Rhoda Catherine (Wright) Moore. He was married to Clara Dunnam, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include two nephews, E. E. “Judge” Sheffield of Onalaska and S. C. “Goose” Sheffield of Livingston; one niece, Katie Moore of Livingston; three sisters-in-law, Ina Tomme, Lola Tomme, and Bell Tomme and 15 other nephews and nieces. Interment was in Bold Springs Cemetery under direction of Cochran Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jim Reeves, Tommy Sheffield, Jerry Stash, Steve Lindly, Sidney Moffett and John Sheffield.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Charles Alfred Towns, 67, were held Saturday,
Dec. 4, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Frank Hood officiating.
Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Military honors were provided by VFW
Post 8568. Mr. Towns died Wednesday, Dec. 1, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born Oct. 27, 1937 in Robertson County, the son of Charlie Thomas Towns and
Cornelia Florence Bell Towns. He was a mechanic for Bounds Chevrolet for over 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Frank Bell. Survivors include
his wife, Ernestine Towns; son, Jeffery Towns of Houston; daughter, Deborah Towns of
Livingston and granddaughter, Elizabeth Towns of Livingston.

Laban Marsh, Roger H. Marsh, and Richard M. Standley. Mrs. Turner was born June 20,
1894 in Bold Springs. She died June 21. Mrs. Turner is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Marsh of Polk County. She attended the Polk County public schools. Mrs. Turner married James A. Turner on Feb. 7, 1918. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include: one son, Tom W. Turner of Orlando, Florida; one sister, Lee Alice Stanley of Houston; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Services for James Beth Turner, 52, of Houston, a native of Polk County, were held Sunday in Bold Springs Church with burial in Bold Springs Cemetery directed by Pace Funeral Home of Livingston. The Rev. Frank Hood officiated. Mr. Turner died last Thursday. Born near Bold Springs in Polk County Sept. 24, 1920, he was the son of James Austin and Bullah Marsh Turner. He attended elementary school in Bold Springs and graduated from Livingston High School. He received a law degree from South Texas School of Law and had practiced in Houston. Mr. Turner was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary M. Turner of Houston; his mother, Mrs. Bulah Marsh Turner of Livingston; three sons, James Donald Turner of Calif. and Patrick Randall Turner and Fredrick Eugene Turner, both of Houston; four daughters, Mrs.
Vivian Rutherford of Lufkin, Mrs. Paula Beth Carter of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Mrs. Janette Rushcer and Mrs. Kathleen Gunter both of Houston; a brother, Tom Turner

JOHN W. TURNER , 87, of 2609 10th Street died at 2 p.m. Friday at Park Place Hospital.
A native of Livingston, Mr. Turner had lived in Port Arthur for 54 years. He retired from Texaco in 1955 after 36 years of service, having worked in the refrigeration department. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel. Services are set for 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel with the Rev. Dale Vance of Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will take place in Bold Spring Cemetery, near Livingston. The Rev. Charles Wise, minister of education at Central Baptist Church will officiate the graveside rites. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Bell Turner, Port Arthur, two sons, Edmond E. Turner and Wallace H. Turner both of Port Arthur; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Martin, Livingston, and four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held for Joseph Barton Turner, Jr., age 40 at the Bold Springs Baptist Church on Thursday August 31, 1969 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. C. L. Moore officiating assisted by the Rev. Donald White. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Turner was born the son of Joseph and Laura Turner. A native of Montgomery County, he was born near Conroe. Mr. Turner moved to Polk County at an early age and settled
near Livingston. He attended the Livingston Public Schools. On November 5, 1956, he was married to Ima Jeanette Rogers. To this union were born three children, all survive. Mr. Turner was a career soldier and has been in the United States Air Force for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; Ima Jeanette Turner of Houston, his mother, Mrs. Laura Turner of Livingston and two sons, Guy Barton and Gregory Lee Turner both of Houston, one daughter Laura Fae Turner of Houston and two sisters Margaret O’Neil of Livingston and Betty Ladish of Houston, and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were members of the United States Air Force Ellington Field, Texas.Arrangements were under the direction of the Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
