This afternoon I played golf at the Mar del Plata golf course in front of the Sheradon. It is not an easy course. The course is very hilly and the greens are sneaky fast. Add to that a strong wind and I thought I did well to shoot an 85 for the first time I played it. The cost to play and to rent clubs was 55 pesos. I believe that was the gringo price. Where they really put the screws to me was on the balls. The wanted 5 pesos a ball and it is very easy to lose balls on this course. I am not a fan of dragging clubs threw the airport so I doubt if I will bring my clubs but the next time I come I will bring shoes and golf balls. Had a great time playing and the view of the Argentine sea was great.
After the round of golf I phoned Mari from the Madaho´s Pub (same thing as Madajos). I got her phone number on Saturday night. On looks she is an 8 but on attitude see is a 10. Her English is not all that good but she is funny with a outgoing personality and very affectionate. She gave me a BBBJ and covered sex along with a great massage. These girls down here love to give massages. Price: 100 pesos. What a steal!!! There is just absolutely no comparison to the US.
Sunday night I went back to Madaho´s round about midnight. The selection on a Sunday night is decidedly less than on Saturday night. Spend some time talking to a girl from Cuba (pretty) but she was not my cup of tea. I finally ended up with a girl who called herself Tahanna (sp?). She had raven black hair and was from BA. I´d rate her face about an 8 but I would give her body a 9. Great legs. Her attitude had to be a 10. Whenever she wasn´t doing a BBBJ or covered sex she was massaging old hank. This went on for about 2 hours. Total price: 150 pesos which included all the drinks from the bar. Great value and great service. When I went to the airport the following morning I was one tired and fucked out man. I am definately going to take Monday off.
The flight back to BA from MDP was interesting. I flew on the same small 22 seater. The wind was really strong and I am sure you can quess what kind of turbulence a small aircraft in strong winds can have. MDP is naturally a windy place so if you can´t handle alot of turbulence I suggest you try booking a larger airplane. I´m not sure if that will help but it might keep a lump or two out of your throat. When we got to cruising altitude the turbulence pretty much ended. Do not let my comments about turbulence deter you from going by plane to MDP. The pilots are good and they are very experienced flying in these conditions. They are not new to it. It was, however, new to me.
Notes and observations:
There is alot more to MDP than just the Manantiales and Sheradon areas. If you follow the coast road north back toward the airport there are all kinds of things to do and check out. Also, Quemes St (sp?) has a lot going on as well. Wish I had more time.

Toosh,
Again, thanks for your posts from MDP. Can you answer a few questions when you get a chance?
1) Did you end up switching hotels or did you just stick with the hotel you originally checked in to? How was the staff there? Any problems at all? Would you stay there again?
2) What was the make up of the clubs? How many girls total were working? Was there a huge selection of girls? Any hotties (9's or 10's)? Were the girls asking for 100 pesos or what was the going rate?
Sounds like a beautiful city. You sound like you had more fun than Jackson had in La Plata. I am all for seeing new places as long as I don't have to spin my wheels wasting time finding the 'talent'. Of course it will be warmer when I go so that might help.
Thanks again.

Saint,
I never checked out of the Manantiales. It`s a nice place. My intention in checking out the Sheradon and Costa Galana was to see if I could get a 5 star at fire sale prices during this time of economic distress here. Also, I am thinking of coming back in February and I may end up staying at the Sheradon for a little bit (if the prices come down). I brought my digital camera with me. I´ll email you some pictures.
The only club I went into in MDP was Madaho´s. On Sunday there was not a hugh selection but on Saturday it was very good. I would rate Madaho´s on a same level as a Playwoman or Blacks. Madaho´s is not as stylish or upscale a bar as Blacks but it definately has some hotties in it. The girl I took out of there Saturday night (Rosemary) was definately hot and she was by no means the only one in there.
Also, just as a side note, I believe I was the only gringo in there. The local guys dón´t have any money for these girls so you felt all the eyes of the girls were upon you when you went in there. When is the last time you felt the eyes of every chick in the place was on you. Not in America.
To me the down side of MDP is that it appears to be a one trick pony as far as the bar scene goes. However, I was only there for two days. There could be more as MDP is not a small town.
By the way, I went into Shampoo late last night. I took out a solid 8.5 out of there for 100 pesos. Some of the dancers in there are about as hot as they get. WOW!!! I didn´t get around to finding out if they were available as I was otherwise occupied

From Kick Stand in Mar Del Plata. He emailed for me to post:
Hey, Saint!
Well, as luck would have it, I remember that someone
on WSG posted that the La Capital newspaper had a
classified section.
I pulled a "UWPhoto crap shoot" and found an agency an
ordered some room service.
JACKPOT!!! Luciana. Blond, maybe 5'5. 90-60-90. Very
nice body. Tanned & toned. A few tattoos. Belly
piercing. Typical insane animal-like session that I
love. Likes kissing. Very passionate, fake or
otherwise. The bed moved from the wall like a foot. 2
hours for $150. This included the tip and cab fare.
Other indie listing in the newspapers list $20 - $30.
Not sure if pesos or USD. Either way, if she is the
standard, a STEAL!
she would come back for dinner. She said yes. As long
as I didn't screw up in the translation, she should be
back at 7pm.
BAD thing about Mar del Plata. DEFINITELY a summer
place. Most businesses here are closed in the off
season. Was warned about certain areas last night by a
taxi driver. Also told me about a couple of places to
see women. Won{t be able to check them out because I
fly out tomorrow morning. Chocolate was one. Heh
heh....my kinda place. I can't remember the other.
Most of the happenings appear to be on Avenida
Constitucion. When I cruised it last night, mainly
dead due to the off-season. I may come back here
instead of BA to check out the beach scene. Cheap
flight here. $180 pesos roundtrip in a turbo prop.
I'm staying at the Torres de Manatianles. Booked
through Mayra. For 2 nights, $312(more or less) pesos.
VERY nice place. Huge apartment 2-bedroom, yes TWO,
room. One queen and 2 singles. Spa facilities, 2
resturaunts, game room, pub, etc. I'd stay here again.
In the Argentine summer. One problem is that few of
the staff speak english. They DO have people that
speak it but not as many as I saw in BA. The price you
pay, I guess. Room service was a challenge but I
weathered the storm.
Pass on to the fellas please.

Just bought my ticket to Mar Del Plata and also have an Executive Suite booked at the Costa Galana hotel in MDP for December. I'll post detailed reports and will take plenty of pictures of the rooms. Kick Stand is planning on joining me down there. Should be interesting. We also might bring our chicas that we know from Buenos Aires.
This is gonna be fun....Life is good.

Here is the Web site for the Costa Galena...what a beautiful hotel and the suites look great!!!!
This is the type hotel that is perfect for bringing a chica along....Very plush and romantic....located on the best beach in MDP. She will love it!!!!
The Iruna or other downtown hotels work for picking up a chica in MDP and taking her back to your room...
Things to do:
Take a cruise of the harbor....my chica loved it
There is a park at the other end of MDP where you can rent horses by the hour...in the off season you can ride on the beach...if not, the park itself is full of large, old trees....nice scenery while riding....
I do not recommend the Aquarium....It ain"t seaworld! 'nough said.
enjoy!

SAINT!!!!
I love you like a brother--but for christ's sake--would you please NOT take any girls down to MDP.
December is the height of the season. You will score a hot brazilian or argentine chica out of Malojos every god-damned night and the girl will service you to the high heavens.
MDP is a much more tropical "anything goes" setting the Buenos Aires (and the going rate was around 100 pesos; if you paid 200 pesos the girls would iron your shirts) Remeber these girls (while pros) act less professionally and after a three hour session beg you to go dancing with them at 6am!
1) Be sure to take a cab to the "South Beaches" this is where all the smoking hot 10s (not hookers) tan their little boxes. The beach (no exageration) contained at least 600 beautiful 19-30 year old hotties--and this was on a cold day in March! I thought I had entered the pearly gates of heaven. Truly surreal!
I can only imagine that beach in December!!!!
Remember any cab driver will know how to take you there. It is about a 7 minute ride (south) from the Sheraton Hotel. 12 minute ride from MDP center....Very safe. Bring the sunscreen and extra towel to hide your erection.
2) There is a strip of regular bars/clubs up the block and around the corner from Malajos (the hobby bar)--these amatuer bars and clubs contain some of the hottest rich kids from MDP--fuckin drop dead incredible chicas--with blond hair dressed in Ralph Lauren.... I remember remarking that this strip of clubs was like being in Greenwich CT--that's how scrubbed clean and rich these kids (18-29) all looked.....VERY SAFE and fun--kids all over the streets, cars cruising by slowly blasting music--BUT ONCE AGAIN--the quality of the individuals is so high--that it is not like Daytona Beach American White trash....You will be amazed by the class of these people.
So--if you want to experince this amazing scene--you must go to this section (3 minute walking distance from the Sheraton Hotel).......THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THIS IN THE CENTER, COMMERCIAL SECTION OF MDP. This is the real deal where the local kids go. When I was there I found everyone to be extremely friendly.
And who knows? You might hit the jack pot!
ADIOS!

L.A. Larry,
Thanks for the advice. Odds are I'll just go without a chica. Kick Stand from the board is meeting me in Mar Del Plata. The trooper that he is....he is flying into Rio (couldn't get a frequent flyer ticket to Buenos Aires for the high season), then flying to Buenos Aires, then flying to Mar Del Plata to meet me. Holy sh*t this is gonna be good!
Ok, so you have me convinced NOT to bring a BA girl with me to Mar Del Plata. I'll try to post daily "live reports" from Mar Del Plata. I hear the scene there is unreal during December. The weather will be nice and warm and I'm sure the chicas will be dressed oh so hot.
I've had good luck conversing with the normal chicas in Argentina. I've generally stayed away because the pay to play girls are so damn quick and easy. No muss....no fuss. But I might explore the normal chicas too and see what I can muster up. My spanish is getting better each week. I still talk to chicas I met in BA on the phone and online everyday which helps.
It's a done deal. Already got my tickets to Buenos Aires and Mayri (my travel agent) has already booked the tickets for both Kick Stand and I to go to Mar Del Plata on December 26th. So while all you poor souls are spending time opening presents and looking at what Santa brought you..... I'll be opening a few "presents" of my own. Ha! Life is good.
P.S. If Mar Del Plata is as good as you say.... I'm seriously thinking of turning my 15 day trip into a month long trip. I'm in the midst of letting my work know that I might be "unavailable" after my 15 days. I'm sure they will be pissed but I guess that's life. If I like Rio too... I'm spending an extra week in Mar Del Plata and an extra week in Rio. (I hope my "cosita" doesn't fall off).

At the risk of sounding negative....I was not overly impressed with Mar Del Plata.....I am not talking about chica-clubbing, since I did not go to any chica clubs during my stay. I had my favorita with me and she would have frowned on such activity. I did not find the beaches or the town particularly attractive....way too tacky and touristy to suit me.....very blue collar...very crowded....I will be interested in your reaction Saint...

Ezy and Saint:
The best part of Mar del Plata is located in the southern suburbs beyond Punta Mogotes, where the wealthy individuals spend their vacations. Downtown MDP (the Casino area, Constitucion Av. and the like) are too crowded and commercial (touristy in words of Ezy), more taylored to the middle class taste (it's like comparing Recoleta to Downtown BA).
One of the famous southern suburbs is Chapadmalal. THere are several private country clubs and commercial allies. Girls are beautiful, although somewhat cocky from my point of view.
Unless you have a lot of friends in MDP, 1 month is too much from my point of view. There are other beaches in the South Atlantic ocean that merit a visit, such as Pinamar and Villa Gesell (130 km north of MDP). These places are more family-like, less hobby friendly but they have a charm (specially Pinamar, with its hills full of trees and cottages). The richest Argentinians usually have a Summer house either in Punta del Este or in Pinamar.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Andres and Ezy,
I always appreciate opinions. I've heard both very good and mediocre things about Mar Del Plata. That is why originally I'm only spending 3 nights/4 days there. There is no way I'd spend one month in Mar Del Plata alone.
When I talked about a "month long trip", I meant that I'm going to spend the majority in Buenos Aires, some in Mar Del Plata and some in Rio. If I added another two weeks to my 15 days I'd probably add a week in Rio (unless it sucks which I doubt it will) and a few days to BA and maybe another few days hitting towns like Pinamar and Villa Gesell that Andres described.
Chapadmalal sounds very interesting. Sounds like my sort of area. Beautiful girls? Hmm. I don't mind cocky girls because I can dish it out just as much as they can. Confidence is one thing that I'm not lacking.
I plan on doing more sightseeing in December. I plan to take a LOT more pictures of chicas and the country in general. I just bought a new digital camera today and a 256 MB flash card. Ha, ha. That should be plenty for pictures and it also takes up to 30 second videos which I plan to utilize as well.
I wish there were more detailed reports on MDP. Rest assured by the time I'm through with MDP, you all will know everything there is to know about this town in respect to the chica scene.

Leo--
Forgive me but I only knew the beach as the "south beaches".
But I assure you that every person, cabbie, hotel clerk, and hooker--knows the precise name and can tell you exactly how to get there.
Remember it is a very short ride from the Sheraton Hotel.
And believe me when I say that there were hundreds of beautiful girls on this beach. Not a handful. Not 30 or 40....But freakin' hundreds.

need some hotel advice from you past visitors to mdp:
from my research, i think i want to stay in the playa grande area (it's a little south of downtown, where the costa galana & sheraton are). it's closer to the strip of bars and madajos, and closer to the nicer beach, and closer to southern beaches. seem right?
anyway, the sheraton & c.g. are both in the ar$300+ per night range (for late dec), and i'd love to spend less (but still not stay downtown?)... any suggestions on a 4* or nice 3* close to the sheraton/parque san martin/costa galana in the playa grande area of mdp?

Leo--
Trust me....The Hotel Manantiales is perfect for your needs. They will give you a 1 bedroom apartment with a damned kitchen and balcony overlooking the ocean for a very reasonable rate (half of what a regular room would cost in the Sheraton).
Meanwhile, your only a miniscule 3-5 minute cab ride from the Sheraton and Madajos.
And only 5 minutes from the MDP center.
The hotel is very safe. And very chica friendly.
Peace

Larry is right. The Manantiales is just fine. I stayed there for a couple days and had no problems. Just get above the 15th floor. Your view is great and not blocked by other buildings.
