6. RESEARCH FRAMEWORKS AND DATA MANAGEMENT

As this research was examining the provision of recreation facilities for the youth in Umlazi and the youth’s perception towards the policies related to the provision and management of recreation facilities and activities within the study area, the collection of data was therefore limited to the youth.

6.1 DATA COLLECTION
In this research there are four data collection strategies or methods that have been employed. These strategies are questionnaires, interviews, observations and available data. The four strategies have been preferred among others because of the nature of the research problem and the kind of information desired by the researcher.
