TZ Guarantees for Power Sector Gas Supply Expansion: The proposed operation consists of providing credit enhancement mechanisms to address the low credit worthiness of the natural gas production and supply, and power sectors in Tanzania. The proposed operation will enabling the development and expansion of natural gas fields by private developers in several locations, and independent power generation activities. The proposed instrument will be a series of Partial Risks Guarantees (PRGs) back-stopping liquidity payments under Gas Supply Agreements (GSA) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) entered between private sector developers and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and/or Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO).
