Secondary Education Quality and Access Enhancement Project - AF: The Project Development Objective in the proposed AF operation will remain unchanged and will continue to be "to improve the quality of secondary education, systematically monitor learning outcomes, and to increase access and equity in project upazilas". The four project components will be the same as in the original project. The proposed AF would: (i) support the implementation of the expanded project activities (across more schools and students within SEQAEP upazilas) to deepen the impact of a well-performing project; (ii) allow adequate time for MOE to evaluate and institutionalize successful interventions from the ongoing project under a more harmonized secondary education sector program that GOB is planning to initiate by early 2017; and (iii) initiate replication of successful activities beyond 125 SEQAEP upazilas in a phased manner for a smoother institutionalization of SEQAEP interventions. The AF would also extend the Closing Date of the current SEQAEP project from June 30, 2014 to December 31, 2016 in order to carry out the proposed activities. Approval completed on 3 December 2013.
