AFCC2/RI-3A-Ruzizi Hydropower Partial Risk Guarantee: The Ruzizi III hydropower project, 147MW is sponsored by the Energy Commission of the Great Lakes Countries (DRC, Rwanda and Burundi),in short “EGL”, and includes the construction of the dam, tunnel, power station and the transmission line to a switchyard. The project will be developed in the form of a public-private partnership supported by donors including the World Bank, AfDB, and DBSA. The World Bank would provide a Partial Risk Guarantee to support private sector investors to develop the Ruzizi hydropower project. Identification completed on 15 October 2013.
