Articulate important doctrinal rules, standards and principles of International Human Rights Law; explain what they mean and provide appropriate examples; and Present competing policy arguments regarding contemporary problems in International Human Rights Law.

UPE’nin temel yapıları: uluslararası ticaret, finans, uluslararası para sistemi, dış borçluluk, global güvenlik; bilgi ve teknoloji, Güney-Kuzey çatışması;
Devlet- piyasa çıkar çatışması: bölgesel bütünleşme girişimleri, AB, NAFTA, Kalkınmada Devletçik:Japonya ve Türkiye (Etatism) , OPEC ve Çok Uluslu Şirketler;
Küresel sorunlar: gıda ve açlık, Çevre sorunları.

Uluslararası ilişkilerde ve güç dengelerinin oluşumunda temel faktör olan ekonominin rolünü açıklamak, güç elde etmede ekonomi politikalarından nasıl yararlanıldığını ortaya koymak.

Definition and dimensions of International Political Economy (IPE),
Mercantilism and Economic Nationalism
The Liberal IPE Perspective: “Laissez-Faire” view;
Marx, Lenin and the Structuralist perspective;
Critical perspectives on IPE: “rational choice” and “rent-seeking”;
IPE Structures: production, finance, Security, and knowledge;
State and market tensions: European Union, NAFTA, Japan and developmental state, Etatism in Turkey, OPEC and Multinationals
Global problems: food and hunger, the environment.

Course Contents
Different definitions of environment, environmental dimensions, components, harmful and destroying applications on the environment and environmental responses in return are going to be included within the limits of this course. Therefore, the policies which defines our perceptions and aproaches towards the environment will be studied both at national and, mostly, at international levels.
Course Objectives (Learning Outcomes)
This course aims to make students familiar with the basic knowledge about the issues within the sphere of environment; to study national and international agreements and decisions by taking into considerations their contents and applications; to give the basic information about international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGO) functioning both at national and international levels to solve environmental problems.
