11. External linkages



The HSP cooperates with the higher educational establishments both in Latvia and abroad .

Agreements on co-operation are made with:

  • Daugavpils University;

  • Riga Institute of Pedagogy and Administration of (RPIIVA) Education;

  • Baltic Russian Institute;

  • London Metropolitan University (“CICE” project);

  • Universidad de Granada (Spain);

  • Moscow University of Psychology and Pedagogy;

  • St-Petersburg State University;

  • Vladimir State University.

Co-operation with associations

The HSP cooperates with the Latvian Association of Professional Psychologists. From the Association a reference was received on the study programme implemented at the HSP (REFERENCE OF ASSOCIATION OF PROFESIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS OF LATVIA ON THE PROFESSIONAL MASTER’S STUDIES PROGRAMME “PSYCHOLOGY” IMPLEMENTED BY HIGHER SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY , 2003.28.04., Nr. 045/LP can be viewed at Lomonosova ielā 4, Room 206).



Co-operation with the employers

The HSP cooperates with the following organizations which are potential employers :



  • Self-government agents’ “ Rīgas mājoklis ”(“Riga lodgings”);

  • “Kord”, “RD Electronic” Ltd.;

  • “Blik-M” Ltd.;

  • “Kaskad FS” Ltd.;

  • Baltic Russian Institute;

  • Eurotrans;

  • “ArfaN” Ltd.;

  • “Nelss” Ltd.;

Cooperation with the employers is realized in the following way:

  • The HSP has established and is maintaining linkages with the employers and organizations where HSP master students are working.

  • The HSP is maintaining linkages with the potential employers and the heads of those organizations, where the master students are doing their practice. Taking into the account the students’ work during the work placement as well as the employers’ references about the students, the potential employers have an opportunity to choose for themselves specialists for further work in their organizations.

(The references of the employers listed in the Appendix 4 can be viewed at Lomonosova ielā 4, Room 206.).

  • It is planned to incorporate the employers into the commissions sitting for the master papers presentation. The employers thus will have a chance to evaluate the professional skills and training of the masters students, ask them specific questions linked to the specialization chosen by the students.

Agreements on cooperation of the HSP with educational establishments in Latvia and abroad, with foreign educational organizations and organizations offering practical placement for the students as listed in the Appendix 14 can be viewed at Lomonosova ielā 4, Room 206.



12. Plans for the further development of the study programme

With the purpose to improve the quality of the study programme the HSP administration is planning to work in the following areas: development of the academic personnel, involvement of the specialists from abroad into the study programme implementation, international cooperation, amplification of the material and technical recourses, research activity and publication of HSP instructors’, participation of the students and the instructors in projects and grants, teachers’ exchange, holding of joint tele-video-conferences on-line, joint journals and study literature to be issued, cooperation in research activity, significant amplification of the library stock, maintaining a HSP home page.

For the near future it is planned to take part in the following conferences and seminars:


  • Seminars and conferences held by the Latvian Association of Professional Psychologists;

  • International conferences held in the Baltic States;

  • The 7th International Conference of Psychologists of the Baltic States (June 15-17, 2006);

  • International conferences “Mentoring for children from disadvantaged environment: European experience with Big Brothers Big Sisters”, Estonia;

  • International conferences CiCe Eight Annual Conference in Riga, Latvia;

  • For the near future it is planned to take part in the following projects:

  • Form year 2003 the HSP is working in the European Commission Socrates Programme A Thematic Network Project “Children’s Identity & Citizenship in Europe”

  • To submit for consideration to the European social foundation the project “Development of professional language and IT competencies of the HSP academic staff”, 01.09.06. – 01.05.07.

  • Form year 2005 the HSP is starting work in the European Commission Socrates Programme in the project ERASMUS

Within the frameworks of the project international cooperation with the higher school of the EU will be realized (students and academic staff exchange etc.).

Currently, within the frameworks of the project ERASMUS the HSP is negotiating with the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus (Greece), Universidad de Deusto (Spain), TEI of Patras (Greece), Universidad de Jaen (Spain), Wyžsza Szkola Technologii Informatycznych (Poland).

Within the frameworks of the project ERASMUS the HSP has made an agreement with the Universidad de Granada (Spain) concerning the master students and instructors exchange. During the ac.year 2006/2007 one of the master students of the HSP will have an opportunity to study at the University for 9 months, one of the instructors will have an opportunity to deliver lectures there.

Due to the agreement on cooperation made with the St-Petersburg State University in 2008 the HSP will have an opportunity to realize the instructors exchange, the instructors will deliver the courses “Staff management (psychological aspects)” , “Psychology of professional activity (theory and practice)”, “Psychology of professional development” .



For the further development of the master’s studies programme it is planned:

  • Cooperation and master students exchange within the frameworks of the programmes “Erasmus Sokratus” , and “Erasmus Mundus”;

  • Agreement on cooperation with the Warsaw Institute of Management and Finance (Poland);

  • Participation of the master students in international seminars and conferences;

  • Collected scientific articles, methodical aids and lecture notes to be published in the study programme’s subjects;

  • Setting up students and master students’ societies for scientific research;

  • Collected scientific articles of the master students to be published, exhibitions devoted to research to be held;

  • Work with mass media.
