Married on 5 June 1861 in Toronto, to Margaret Scott, a native of Glasgow, Scotland. Margaret came to Waddington with her parents who then went to Canada, where her father died. He has always been a Republican in politics, has been assessor seven years and was elected justice of the peace in 1890.
