EC funding for the DiNAMITe NoE will be held centrally in the project coordinator’s account. Detailed rules for budget allocation and decisions will be fixed in the consortium agreement.

 The provisional management Board has agreed the first 18-month budget plan. The management board will discuss and decide on updates of the budget plan subsequently and set up detailed 18-month budget plans annually.

  

The budgets will be assigned to the following DiNAMITe work package categories:

 

Integration of Research

 

- Researcher mobility and access to equipment/services at partners’ location:

• 
  Travel and subsistence covered for visiting researcher.
  
• 
  Equipment and/or labour cost covered for the host partner.
  

(The researcher shall provide a report and material for training/dissemination (if applicable) after completion of each project)
-Cluster meetings and researchers’ participation in ‘cross-cluster meetings’:

• 
  Travel and subsistence cost covered for active partners.
  
• 
  Room hire, catering and host organisation administrative expenses.
  
• 
  Cluster coordination including basic reporting
  
• 
  Labour and travel & subsistence cost for coordination activities
  

 

Joint Research Activities

 

- Additional small research of DiNAMIT project teams needed to ‘fill gaps’ in order to reach excellence (in addition to research that is already integrated under ‘A’)

• 
  Labour cost, travel and subsistence cost, equipment cost, other cost related to additional research activities.
  

(The researcher shall provide a report and material for training/dissemination (if applicable) after completion of each project).

 

- Joint preparation work needed (e.g.: small assessment study, feasibility study) to help to obtain additional funding from other sources in areas to be integrated into DiNAMITe programme at a later stage.

Rules for reimbursement of travel expenses and meeting cost

 

Rules for reimbursement or labour cost will be set up by the Management Board in accordance with

EC-approved guidelines

  Travel expenses will only be reimbursed for active participants

  Travel cost: Economy airfare, 2nd class train fare, or mileage (0.4 Euro/km).
  
• 
  Subsistence (149.63 Euro) for each night – includes hotel, taxi, meals, and all other cost.

  Additional expenses will be covered for room hire, catering, and host organisation expenses.
  

B.8 Joint Programme of Activities – first 18 months
Introduction
The programme for the first 18 months is aimed at beginning the integration of the DiNAMITe members through activities both within clusters and between clusters. Within cluster activities will be centred around the initiation of joint pieces of research that address key issues and promote co-operation. Activities across clusters will also involve joint work but mainly help to catalyse the formation of the new inter-disciplinary DiNAMITe community. Both the integration activities and the joint research will contribute to the target of spreading excellence via training, dissemination and integration towards a sustainable consortium. Linkages are indicated in the Figure below, and the work plan for the first 18 months appears on the next page. Plans for the first 18 months are contained in the following forms.
