Livingston – Funeral services for Sarah Robertson, 76, of Onalaska were held Friday, March 31, 1995 from the Onalaska United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Raines officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson died March 28, 1995 in Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was born July 18, 1918 in Yantis, the daughter of Frank Robinson and Inez Ashberry Robinson. On Dec. 26, 1966 she married Cleveland Robertson in Houston. Mrs. Robertson was a member of Onalaska United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Cleveland Robertson of Onalaska; sons, James

Bohannon of Onalaska and Larry Robertson of Magnolia; mother, Inez Robinson of Sulphur Springs; brother, Milus Robinson of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Bobbie Wright of Dallas and Oleta Ashton of Sulphur Springs; grandson, Cody Robertson of Magnolia; and granddaughter, Kirsty Robertson of Magnolia. Pallbearers were Billy Jack Jones, Corry Jones, Howard Jones, Robert Powell, Milford Rogers and John Rauber. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Faye Grimshaw Rogers, 84, of Livingston were held Saturday, Oct. 14, 1993, from Bethel Baptist Church in Bold Springs, with Bro. Darrell Melacon officiating, assisted by Bro. Frank Hood. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Rogers died Thursday, Oct. 14 at her residence. The daughter of George M. Grimshaw and Donna Marsh Grimshaw, she was born in Palacios, while her family was there temporarily, following her father’s work. Within the first year of her life, the family moved back to Polk County. Except for those first few months, Mrs. Rogers was a life-long resident of Polk County. The most important thing to her was the fact that her life was dedicated to the Lord. She was a graduate of Livingston High School. She was active in the 4-H program and one won second place in the entire state of Texas for sewing. She

won many other 4-H awards, also. On Jan. 21, 1933, she married R. H. “Tub” Rogers in Livingston. To this union one daughter was born. A life-long member of Bethel Baptist Church, Mrs. Rogers served many years as church secretary. She was a member of the Eastern Star. A great fisherman and avid gardener, she was always helping her neighbors.

Mrs. Rogers was a walking encyclopedia of Polk County history. She was preceded

in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, R. H. “Tub” Rogers of Livingston; daughter, Bobbye Lea Wade of Livingston; two grandchildren, Georgia and husband Bill Mills of Livingston and Bruce Wade and wife Tana of Conroe; four great-grandchildren,

Emily Wade, Debbie Mills, John Mills and Leja Mills; and a host of other relatives

and dear friends. Pallbearers were Roland Wilder, Kenneth “Larry” Baker, Nolan “Cotton” Watts, Robert Baker, Frank O’Neil, Joe Pridgen, Doug Hand, M. C. Morris, Tommy Wilder

and Clay Lawrence. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Graveside services for John Eugene “Corkey” Rogers, 56, were held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1987 from Bold Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating.

Mr. Rogers died Nov. 2, at his residence in Livingston. He was born Sept. 15, 1931 in New Willard, to John Collis Rogers and Cecil Cannon Rogers Crum. He was reared and attended school in Polk County and lived in Livingston most of his life. Mr. Rogers worked as a lineman for Sam Houston Electric Co. for a number of years before his retirement. He

retired in the late 1960’s due to medical problems. Survivors include his mother, Cecil Cannon Crum Rogers of Livingston; son, John Robert Rogers of Lufkin; brother, James Otis Rogers of Houston; sister, Pauline Lowe of Livingston; and four grandchildren, Julia Renne Rogers, John Randell Rogers and John Wayne Rogers, all of Lufkin and Michael

Wayne Rogers of Carthage. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LIVINGSTON – Funeral services for Robert “Tub” Rogers Jr., 88, of Livingston were held Wednesday, March 12, 1997, from Bethel Baptist Church, with Bro. Frank Hood and Bro. Donald White officiating. Interment followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Rogers were born June 29, 1908 in the Bold Springs community, the son of Robert Herndon and Jane Emma Marsh Rogers, and died March 9 at his residence. He grew up in the Bold Springs community and attended the local school. In 1933, he married the former Faye Grimshaw, who preceded him in death. Mr. Rogers farmed and ranched all his life on land that has been in his family for 147 years. His great grandfather gave the property for Bethel Baptist Church and Cemetery. Mr. Rogers was known as a contented man who loved his surroundings and cherished his friends and family. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Trinity Lodge No. 14 and the Texas Timber Association. Survivors include his daughter, Bobbye Wade of Livingston; grandchildren, Georgia and husband Bill Mills of Colita and Bruce and wife Tana Wade of Conroe; and great-grandchildren, Debbie and husband Chris Axelrad of Houston, John Mills of Spring, Leja Mills of Oceanside, Calif.

and Emily Wade of Conroe. Pallbearers were members of Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF&AM.
